And very lovely it is, too. I like those wind-blown curves of snow.

Jacko, please help!

I managed it the other day but I can't do it tonight. I start in the forum posting place. Preview. Go to CR comment. Upload the required picture. Preview. Rt click Properties. the address stops short of the end of the address leaving out 'resized.jpg'. which was part of the name. Copied it and added the missing bit and still got the funny little box in the preview. Before that did it all without noticing the missed out bit and got a link that worked in the preview. Very strange and my patience has now run out Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Laughing

If you double or triple click to highlight the address in the properties box, it will have copied ALL of the address, so there's no need to add anything, which will have only served to confuse it (computers are no good at guessing at what you've done), so try again without adding anything.

thank you so much, Jacko. I had highlighted by clicking and dragging. Shall never understand why double or trebble clicking does better but it did. Again thank you. Shall go to bed happy!!!

Jacko, can you advise as to why my computer just doesn't like that thread? When I go into it, my screen is jumping and skitting all over the place, and becomes far too wide for the actual screen so I can't scroll down or anything. Also, four or five time yesterday my internet explorer crashed, and again this morning, but only when I go on that thread!

CH, you don't say which thread, but I imagine it's one with a large picture on it that needs to be resized so it fits on your screen's size resolution. You could try downloading Firefox as a browser and try that for a while - it doesn't have to be your default browser unless you choose it to be but after a few uses you might find it preferable to IE.

Thanks, Jacko, I've heard of Firefox, but every time I try to download other things I get massive problems for days, like it took me a week or more to get i-Player to work. It is probably me, the Village Techno-dullard! The thread is the Show and Tell, and my computer just goes ballistic! I assume one just googles 'Firefox' and downloads? But how do I know it is the right Firefox and not a fake one? And, one more question, what exactly do you mean by a browser? Sorry for being thick.

The browser is the piece of computer software that lets you look at websites, in your case Internet Explorer (IE). The site for Firefox (click on that link) has a Download button on it. Firefox is another type of browser, but it is what's known as "open source", which means that various and many computer programmers world-wide have contributed freely to its creation, meaning there is no link or economic pressure from any organisation, eg like there is with IE and Microsoft.
