Toady's Avatar Compared to one near here that is quite tasteful. There is a roadside bungalow on the Barnstaple road that is festooned with the stuff in all shapes and shades including life size plastic animals in the stable. Done for charity I know but truly naff.

Elizabethd's Avatar We used to drive round Smithers (BC) when we visited daughter at Christmas, just to see , open mouthed, the decorations!

Angel's Avatar That looks just like the council estate where my husbands family live!

Most of the houses are covered-it has become somewhat of a competition as to who has the most/flashiest/tackiest...

This year the first house to put its lights on was in last week of October...

Mountainear's Avatar Blimey!

I think there's one in every neighbourhood - there's a little cottage up on the mountain here; it stands all by itself on my favourite lonely road but it's covered in lights. Must be visible from space.

Milla's Avatar oh what a load of miseries! I just loved this; thanks, Pondie! Hilarious.

Westerwitch's Avatar I quite liked it too - I love that people make an effort to decorate at Xmas - however if we all decorated like that . . . noooooo . . . and most of it is pretty tasteless - whereas that was pretty by comparison - except that it moved.

As a migraine sufferer (although not now) I found and still find repeated things like this tortuous - so if this house was opposite mine I would have to move away for xmas Sad

Camilla's Avatar Great Pondy....... all those flashing lights though a tad too much.

Bodrans visible from space Embarassed doesn't flash though.

LaughingLaughingLaughingActually, that's quite inventive and relatively tasteful compared to the ones I see in Newcastle. I can't believe anyone would look at it and not offer at least half a smile. Wouldn't like to live next door to it, but if it was in my neighbourhood I'd go and see it.LaughingLaughing

I have obviously been living here too long as it's fairly normal and doesn't really invite much comment. I would hate to live next to it though. There's another You Tube which my daughter is addicted to. It's a similar house but the Xmassy music is all electric violins and the lights are very dramatic. If I can find it I'll post it.

Exmoorjane's Avatar Darn it, can't see this........Mad

Withy Brook's Avatar Not nearly as many things as in front of and round a house in Corbridge, but they do not have music or dancing lights. They make oodles of money for charity, but can't help wondering if a straight donation of the amount spent on the decorations and the electricity bill would not come to nearly the same? Sooo tacky - both of them!
