Cowart's Common Room

The weekend has just flown by, son has rung to say he has had the horrid fluey-bug but feeling much better now thankgoodness. Lovely to see the snow here in Norfolk, extremely cold though and as I type it has begun to rain but apparantly we are to be having more snow this coming weekend.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Frances's Avatar Good evening to you Camilla,

Cold and dry here today, and the shop was busy.

Happy to say that we did beat our goal for the just ended "retail" month of November, so staff will all have a little bonus! Great for morale.

Camilla's Avatar Good Evening Frances, thank you.

When was the last time you had snow in NYC Frances?

Oh wonderful that the shop beat the goal for this month, and so pleased that you will be receiving bonus, rightfully so too I think Frances, when you have worked so hard along with your team of staff to keep shop ticking over, you deserve it.

Frances's Avatar Thank you for the encouragement, Camilla.

Let me think, when was our last real snow to be reckoned with? We got off easy last winter, with only a few little teases of flakes. Perhaps year before that 06-07 might have had something children could actually get to sled on, or make a snowman from.

Our snow weather generally doesn't get going until around late January into February. Sometimes March is blizzard time. However, all the climate changing is really keeping us on our toes, never know when our cityscape will be transformed. It has been probably around ten years since we had a real humdinger of a snow storm.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Hi Camilla and Frances,
No snow here. We seldom get it. Last proper snow was in 1982. Weather has been mild, but a little rain tonight. Glad you beat your target Frances. That is very encouraging. Had a pretty hairy week. My husband was not responding to antibiotics for the cellulitis,so he is back in hospital. He may also have a clot in his leg. In one way I'm happy as I can now get his 5 consultants to do a review, and it will save endless appointments, and have everything done at once. He has been transfered from A&E to the hospital to-day. I will be busy having meetings with his doctors tomorrow. To think all this started with a virus 5 years ago. Up to that he was perfectly healthy.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances,

I remember our children when they were younger having two sledges made by FIL for fun in the snow in London, think they are stored in outbuildings somewhere.

March near Easter time I think we had a sprinkling of snow this year even when spring flowers were blooming.

Frances's Avatar Hello Tiggy, I am sorry to hear your husband is back in hospital, but also realize that it may, as you write, make it simpler to get proper diagnosis and treatment.

We are coming up to our annual Thanksgiving Day, and it is a time to count blessings, and also to realize that our blessing could be depleted in a day. So, it is also a time to offer best wishes to those who are not perhaps quite so happy. I can tell that you are a very strong person, with lots of good spirit.

Camilla, It is way too late for you folks across the Pond to be awake. Even I am now going to sort of wind down, since I will have an early start at the shop tomorrow.

See you all soon. xo

Camilla's Avatar Hello Tiggy,

Do you live in Ireland Tiggy? sorry, I love reading your posts but cannot remember where you live.

So sorry to hear that your husband has been admitted as IN patient to the ward, I hope the Consultants will do a review this will then hopefully determine what is the cause of not responding to the antibiotics.

My HL contracted a virus in hospital last year when he was admitted for heart attack and kidney failure, he was very ill at the time.

Please keep us up to date with how your husband is doing Tiggy, take comfort in knowing that we are here for you.
