Cowart's Common Room
So Sorry!

SadTo have been so active and thence so quiet - Not my fault guv'ner it was t'Evil or Very Madflu wot got me down. Took away my feets from under me and put me into bed for a week, the real deal not 'manflu' or even just a cold but influenza, high heart beat (147 bpm on one day!), temperature fluctuations, painful skin and aching joints, sore head dah de dah de dah oh woe is me. Tried to get up last Thursday but too soon temperature rising, chest heaving and had to go back againEmbarassed. Went stir crazy yesterday so got up in the afternoon and went to see my folks for some sympathy -B not the best in that department tho I do have a collection of cough mixture (all DISGUSTING) that any chemist would be proud to own! Think he was trying to tell me something? - but wilted pretty quickly and spent the rest of the day on the sofa watching tv & sleeping.
Anyway am on the mend now even if only doing 'half' days at least that is something. Haven't been this ill for 14 years and don't want to be again for at least another 14.
HAVE HAVE HAVE to be better this week, wrting clas on Tuesday then my book club is on Wednesday although I haven't read the book I still want to go even if I have to spend the day in bed prior to going, and then on Thursday two BF's and I are going to the CL Christmas Fair in Glasgow and I am NOT missing that.
So there!
Anyone else going to it?
Glad to be back again though it might be a bit spasmodic for the rest of the week!

Ivy's Avatar Take it easy CK! You don't want a relapse do you? So slowly slowly and remember flue is a serious illness (not manflue that's just mental) and can lead to nasties like endocarditis if not cured properly!

Exmoorjane's Avatar So sorry to hear you've been so you take care and don't go galloping off anywhere until you're really fit and well.....(needless to say, tuck in your vest)....

Withy Brook's Avatar Take great care, CK. Matron says that it is very important to take your time after influenza, otherwise there can be repercussions. However much you do not want to miss something, your on-going health is more important.

LittleBrownDog's Avatar Yes, yes - glad to have you back, but take it easy. Wink

Westerwitch's Avatar So very sorry to hear that you have been ill please please don't go and over do it - much as things might appear important there is no point in pushing yourself and then having a relapse.

Nope not going to the CL fair - slight history problems although they are now ancient history - plus we have a busy week and an etching course at the weekend.

Westerwitch's Avatar WHAT so I did . . TUCK THAT VEST IN. All of you not just Calicokate.

Cold weather is predicted for the end of the week . . . so vests MUST be tucked in at all times . . . and if you don't you know what happens Twisted Evil

CalicoKate's Avatar Vest is and will be tucked in. I do hear what you're all saying and thank you for doing so. I will be taking care but I must do these tings to stay sane, otherwise I have a whole'nother month to wait - in the case of book club and in the case of CL - who knows. I am being chauffered there in return for purchasing the tickets so that isn't too bad. I will take a blanket and go to sleep on the journey.
Off back to bed.

Camilla's Avatar So sorry to hear you have been ill CK, hope you will now be feeling much better. Enjoy the Christmas Fair, but make sure you are nice and warm, and lots of rest still I needed I think, you have had quite a heavy viral infection.
