Cowart's Common Room
Facebook (continued)

I've just been on Facebook to look at my sister's wedding photos, photos of my grandson, and also another new addition to the family..

Instead of that, once I reached the site I was confronted with an invitation to join a 'porn movie'. There were all sorts of horrible ads etc...not spam...but stuff that had come via the site.

Although earlier in the week I was feeling quite proud of the fact that I was a Grandmother who could 'Facebook' I'm now definitely off.

It was disgusting!

You should probably have a look at your "settings' and see if you can restrict who can send things like that. I haven't ever received spam on mine although I'm not sure why.

Wow, I've never received anything like that either - and I use it all the time. We have a spam filer put on ages ago by husband because he uses hotmail (I'm on orange) and on hotmail you get hundreds of rubbish emails.

Very sad isn't it? Spoils it for everyone.

Withy Brook's Avatar How horrid, Salle. I too am a Granny who is proud of herself for being on Facebook Rolling Eyes but have not had spam yet - not been there long yet though.

Salle de Bain's Avatar The nasty stuff is in a box on the right of the page, under the heading 'sponsor'. has anyone else had anything like this?

Can't find anything in settings to deal with am stumped as to what it is, or where it's come from.

Westerwitch's Avatar Not nice for you Salle - hope there are settings to restrict who visits.
