Cowart's Common Room
Homework pieces

Can I just say here FANTASTIC effort of all the homework people with the one-vowel thing. I haven't done one because this type of challenge makes my head hurt like Sudoku does so I am massively impressed by you all doing so well.
PS I agree with an earlier comment by Milla about the many posts to comment on (though admittedly in this instance it's not so bad), can we think of a way around that? I comment on some, and miss some, and worry some may feel I've snubbed them...

Milla's Avatar Exactly that, it's the snubbing thing, that worries me. That you really want to read all but then all the comments too ... and the phone goes and you drift off. That's why for this one I thought shoving all on one would be good. Oh well, am impressed by all the clever ones who have managed. Not one for me, but fun to read.

Westerwitch's Avatar I second that there are some amazing pieces - very inventive and well written.

Exmoorjane's Avatar I confess that when I first heard about it, I really didn't think I'd get around to doing it. But it threw up a bit of a challenge and I do love a challenge. I really enjoyed doing it and have been truly fascinated by the way the vowel chosen dictates the mood of the piece somehow.

Agree too about the snubbing Milla (yes, snubbing always worries me)......easy to miss when there is a lot to read - and yes, often feel that missing out on great threads. Maybe one long thread would be better....

Cait's Avatar I am so glad that someone else has brought up the comment thing. I haven't even looked at these homework pieces in the forum because I find it all too overwhelming and I am so worried that people will think I am not interested or snubbing them. If I start on one or two for example and then not get round to the rest.
I always blog mine, could those of us who blog not do that? And the rest maybe in one place?

Faith's Avatar Cait, I don't think that some people would like their homework on their blog - anyone can read a blog and some things are rather personal. I know anyone can read Purplecoo but less easily found than a blog. It's for Headmistress to say what would be the best way....

These one vowel homeworks would be worth putting in a little book I think! You know when you start a normal piece of writing you have some idea of what you want to say, but I felt this one took over on it's own. I started writing a few words down and then the piece started to write itself. I'm sure Jane didnt think I'll write an erotic piece about Eve and the serpent either! It's fascinating how they have come about.

Couldn't we go back to doing them alphabetically, but in reverseRolling Eyes, so that we're not inundated? I've rather stopped reading them for that very reason.

Exmoorjane's Avatar No way is that going on my blog!! Very Happy
I like them in the forum but maybe one long thread would be good....that could be quite fun....

Withy Brook's Avatar I try to read them all but only comment occasionally because of time. I think one long one could work better?
