Cowart's Common Room

I was going to have a relaxing day today, then decided to have a baking day instead.......... pies, flans, little fairy cakes, and cooked a huge chicken casserole this evening.

Son and his partner return to London later today, it's been great having them here, I shall miss them.

Daisy is so much better which is a huge relief thankgoodness.

The little picture I have posted here I think is so sweet, it is by the artist Deborah Jones and is entitled - Fireside.

Hope you had a lovely day.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances and TIGGYWINKLE,

Hope you both enjoyed a lovely Autumn day, we have had rain here, but Autumn is one of my favourite seasons of the year, love the red/brown/gold colours of the tree's.

Frances's Avatar Hello back to you, Camilla, and hello to Tiggywinkle, as well.

Your baking activities sound incredible, Camilla, how do you find the energy. I could perhaps manage one or one and one-half of those delicious baked pies or cakes.

I am looking forward to an early visit to the voting booth tomorrow, and then at midday, to having lunch with a friend whom I have known for ... maybe over 20 years, but whom I have not seen in a while. It should be grand.

Today was dark an damp here, but the rain never fell.

I got some very needed house cleaning done, painted a birthday card to send to to a London friend, continued painting my Christmas cards, and had a great walk, and worked on a few more projects, too. So, even though no baking, I was busy.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances,

Much energy today and had a good nights sleep last night, although won't be long before I hop into bed soon. We have an electrician arriving in the morning to sort out some extra ariels for TV.

Those votes hopefully will select the right candidate for the post Frances.

Wonderful to catch up with that friend of yours Frances, will you maybe be able to take a trip to the Museum, hope so.

I am to meet up with a friend I have not seen 11 years, she is much younger then me, will be 40 this week, she is one of my nursing pals I used to work with, although I do envy her trip to the Grand Canaries soon.

You never know Frances, once I get those paints for Christmas I may even dabble in having a go, wish I could paint, you are so talented.

How is the knitted throw coming along?

Frances's Avatar Camilla, I know that you will enjoy testing out those paints. Just don't take it too seriously at the beginning, let yourself play with it. With watercolors, it is best to start with thin watery washes, and build up the density of the colors, or value changes, little by little.

And now ... nite nite, and sweet dreams to you.

Camilla's Avatar Frances - I just wish I had your expert eye beside me, to teach me of those brush strokes, but thank you for the water-colour tip, I will keep that in mind.

Night night Frances, it is time to turn out the lights, sweetest dreams to you.
