Cowart's Common Room
WW - re dove

I came out the door just as the hawk was tussling with the dove - it was all so quick, I didnt really see. The hawk flew off and the dove sort of hopped to shelter - the coal bunker again - and got stuck. I picked her up and she had blood on her but we think she was frightened and scratched more than badly hurt. We have put her, with food and water, in the dog travelling box 'hospital' and will see if she can fly tomorrow when she has recovered from the shock.

Thanks for asking.

Westerwitch's Avatar Aw bless her - I do hope she is ok. Glad you were able to rescue her - even if means the hawk had to go without its dinner.

Faith's Avatar Well I do understand the hawk has to eat, but why can't it eat jackdaws or magpies, or woodpigeons - we have HUGE flocks of all of those round here.

I'll let you know how she is tomorrow. I have named her Angel.

Westerwitch's Avatar I would be the one rescuing as well Faith. I would have taken my chicken off the fox if I could have got there in time - cubs or no cubs.
