Cowart's Common Room
I'm back

Greetings one and all, I am back. Since Mum died I have not had any time to blog, yet my head was spinning with prospective blogs and maybe over the coming months they'll reach the Common Room.

We spent the week end in my Mum's house, and as we shall be moving to live there in the not too distant future we decided to bring Mme Pounce along with us. YD's heart was in her mouth with fear that her beloved Mme P would suffer anguish. I did mention in February that she had to be taken to the Vet suffering from stress didn't I? Takes Mme P to have a human problem.

With bated breath we let her out of the cat box into the sitting room on Friday night. Backing out of the box, [always a good way to pretend we haven't spotted potential danger and no one can call us an idiot] she sniffed around at first. I had imagined her first act would be to charge at lightning speed up the nearest curtain. She has Siamese habits albeit she is pure Gutter bred. Not a bit of it!

She started by a stroll around the whole house, bit miffed by cacti on the best window sills for sunning a fabulous feline on, but a paw push or two eventually will sort that out. She has already put manners on the china cat that hid behind a succulent, lucky for her it was only a shop piece, a present from the little girl who lives down the lane. You could hear Pounce's purr all over the place. I don't think this place is good enough for her anymore somehow.

As she strolled at first and then ran around the house, she kept running back into the sitting room to tell us all about the house. Was she afraid of it? Was she heck as like! She LOVED it!. She had to be forced into the cat box when we were leaving, claws dug deeply into the carpet and yowls that could be heard in Gloucestershire.

Eventually nature called during her house rambling and carpet rolling. Shall I let her out I asked; "Noooooo" howled OH, E-D, Y-D in unison, she'll run away, she'll be afraid of the foxes, the Badger might get her. "Well, she's flamin' not leaving a calling card in here let me tell you" said hard hearted me, heartily sick of the sound of claws scratching down the hall door. Open door, exit felix domesticus.

Twenty long minutes passed. Divorce was threatned, the girls announced that they suddenly had seen me in a new and cruel light. "She's a cat, for hecks sake" I groaned, "a creature of the night" I added. "She's our Pounce" they wailed back at us. I opened a window in the study, and, calm as you like, in steps Madam, a quick lick of paw on face and off in to tell them all about the smell of fox, the rustlings in the long grass and the fact that they could all leave now, this is her house, her new home.

Frances's Avatar Irish Eyes, this is a beautiful transition. Welcome back.
I bet that MP was touring the house, and having her very own version of remembering your mom.

Of course, it was wise to let her test the out of doors. And can you imagine the enthusiasm she will have when you do move to the house that will be yours.

What is the view from the kitchen window!

It is so wonderful to have you back. We missed you very much. xo
