Cowart's Common Room
Morning Larks

Morning Larks,

Lovely to wake up to some sunshine here this morning after rain and dark clouds yesterday. Much colder and wetter this month I think than last year when we had it so hot.

The Hollyhocks are looking a tad untidy at the moment, they are growing again like 'Jack and the Beanstalk' just that I need to stake them as soon as I can as I did last year. Gardens need mowing but have put that on ice until tomorrow.

Laundry just hung out, let's hope the rains stay away.

Have a good day everyone.Very Happy

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Quite a nice day here too so far, still trying to get the paper work done but keep getting interrupted, I now have an emergency set of pearls to re-string.

Fennie's Avatar I have paper work to do too, but in a month's time I shall be, touch wood in Clisson - surrounded by vineyards like the ones in the photo. All I shall miss will be the 2CV. Actually Clisson is quite flat and the land there looks hilly, so perhaps we are somewhere else. The wine in the glasses would tell us. Maybe it is a white Burgundy and we are somewhere near Dijon. The licence plate on the 2CV would tell us if we could see it (which we can't).

Good luck with the emergency Pearls, FN. Are they the same as gardening pearls?

Now here's a strange thing - when we got home yesterday there was a spring the size of a wine cork in the shower in my bathroom. Whence had it come? My first though was we must have been burgled, but nothing thankfully was amiss. Further investigation revealed that the device that enables you to position the soap dish at any height on the slider bar and which appeared to be metal but was in fact plastic, had exploded as the plastic deteriorated with age. It had contained the spring to keep a pressure pad pressed against the slider bar to keep the soap dish elevated. The plastic parts had fallen into the soap dish but the spring was clearly of a buccaneering disposition and had decided to go adventuring - boing! Very HappyVery Happy

Camilla's Avatar I have been the office for hours sorting out bills, finances, editing etc... must walk Patch again now, just had late lunch.

Well at least we know where the spring came from then Fennie, we have those soap dishes in all three bathrooms, hope yours can be fixed Fennie.
