Cowart's Common Room
Light Effects

Beautiful light effects this morning. Heavy grey low rainclouds swelling up from the west while in the east the bright morning sun shining on the lush green fields on the hills beyond the town created a fascinating combination of bright green and dark grey. It's an effect I have seen many times in Ireland but not so often here.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar We get that here quite often when a weather front moves in from the west and hovers over the end of the firth. Looking out the Studio window it graduates from bright sunny and green on the left to slate grey and purple on the right.
Or the foreground and background looking over Inverness becomes starkly 3D with the bright green and sunny at the sea front getting more and more dark grey as you look across the town in sections.
We had a half and half afternoon on Skye last year...Very Happy

Camilla's Avatar Light rain showers here earlier and not even a hint of sunshine, how many times have you been to Ireland Fennie? I know you have a passport.

Camilla's Avatar Beautiful pic FN, that would look lovely in a frame for the wall.

Fennie's Avatar Yes I have a passport, Camilla. But you don't need a passport for Ireland. I must have been five or six times over the years and of course my grandmother came from Ireland (Co. Cork) in the south-west.

KitKatCot's Avatar I thought something similar this morning.

On our morning walk the sky, clouds and mist over the hills made me think of Scotland. I pointed it out to Himself who said "Yes, you could see that on a postcard saying 'Greetings from the Highlands'"
