Cowart's Common Room

Morning All,

Intervals of some lovely sunshine today here but the cold wind is a tad bracing albeit not quite so windy as it has been all this week. Still I have washed and hung out on the line lots of winter clothing to dry but slightly annoyed that I never looked at the washing label on my new black cardigan, took it out of the machine and noticed it was a tad smaller after looking at the label I saw... Wash by Hand.!

Spent some time tidying up my wardrobes yesterday afternoon, I have too many clothes.! a few items of clothing I can give to charity. Counted my trousers and I have 12 pairs, as for jackets and coats over 20, good heavens.Very Happy

Lots of folk about renting holiday cottages here, and Sunday always seems to be the busiest day, beach cafe was fit to burst with line of customers queuing up for their orders. I now know that the very deep footings I came across on the dunes a while ago is not going to be the new spot for the beach cafe to be erected re the erosion of the beach, no it will be for the new site just past the cafe of a renovation project for Winterton Life Boat which happily it has got enough funds to go ahead now.

Have a good Sunday everyone.Very HappyLinked Image

Re:
Fennie's Avatar You have more trousers than I do, Camilla! And more jackets and coats. I have just machine washed a pullover and it has gone the same way - it is lambswool - but I am sure I have washed it that way before 30 degrees only and on a reduced time, but instead of looking fluffy it looks run over by a steam roller. Ah well. Xmas present a couple of years back.

I learnt to type on a machine like that but the top line read azerty instead of qwerty (it was French - what was I doing with a French typewriter?) Then when I started using a normal machine I was forever writing 'q' instead of 'a!' Shocked

Fennie's Avatar The sun was shining so I decided that I would mow the lawn after lunch. Now it is after lunch and it is blowing a gale and raining.Sad

Re:
Inthemud's Avatar Afternoon, Camilla & Fennie. Love the picture Camilla. Been bright and sunny morning here, but cluding over now. About to go for walk with dogs. But hubby is trying to sell a car first ( daughter's one but she has gone out!)
My grass is still too boggy to cut yet.

Re:
Inthemud's Avatar Camilla, I went through my wardrobe to declutter as I have decided to donate 40 items to charity for Lent. I have bagged up over 40 mostly dresses and tunics but some little jackets and trousers.
Sadly wardrobe still very full as it gave me an opportuinity to hang up things that had been just thrown in bottom of wardrobe!!But definitely looks tidier and sense of appreciate to declutter and hopefully make some money for my charity shop FSW in eastbourne!

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar I did a declutter a year or two ago but have to keep at it as each time I do not remove nearly enough things! I virtually never wear a skirt nowadays but I still seem to have at least 6 handing in the cupboard.
The trouble with the current weather is that it keeps changing. We were lucky this morning in two ways. It stayed sunny and dry while we were out walking. We managed to keep on our feet, despite gale force gusts! Yesterday I was stupid enough to try to take a photo without having something to lean against. I came within an ace of being blown over backwards. I believe that the very strong winds are about to go away for a while, but will that mean damp and horrid or spring-like sunshine? My fingers are crossed!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Sorry I missed you Muddie. Best of luck with the sale of your daughters car. My eldest granddaughter has just bought her first second hand car, she has not passed her test yet but hopes to on the 4th April.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Have not done the first cut of the small lawn yet, will give it another week I think.

On the subject of clothes Muddie the trouble with me is I am potty about them wardrobes fit to burst. I will give a few items to charity though ones that I don't think I will be wearing anymore so it will make more space for me.
