Fennie's Avatar Ah, good to have you back! I was wondering where you had got to. If you had posted earlier you would have saved me a long boring meandering post about cows! See (or rather don't see, it isn't worth it) my post below about cows.SadSad

Camilla's Avatar Back again... Just had to return to the corner grocery shop after I came back home with small shop, could not find my specs, damn of course remembered where I left them at the corner shop, praying that specs would still be there or some kind person would have handed them to the assistant and indeed they were… hooray.!Very Happy Must invest in a couple of more pairs I think.

Just discovered it is World Sleep Day today, that is alright if you are not an insomniac. Apparently one must get at least 8 hours of good sleep a night and not to drink caffeine during the day after 2pm and no more to eat after 7pm and definitely not anything to eat before one goes to bed. No electrical devices either before sleeping ie PC or iphones, these need to be banished from the room completely. If you wake up in the middle of the night go into another room and read that book you have been wanting to read for ages. Set yourself if you can going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time so the body can get used to this. Well that's my lie in sorted then.Very Happy

Fairy Nuff's Avatar It's quite normal for animals to wake during the night and we're no different - we used to have to to make sure there wasn't a sabre tooth tiger about to maul us in our cave!. It's only the time constraints we have put upon ourselves by inventing the clock and working hours that put the spanner in the works.

We used to think it was normal to get up for an hour or so during the night and have first breakfast before going back to bed, sleeping some more then having second breakfast.

The 8 hours a night myth should really say 8 hours out of 24 in whatever bite sized chunks are normal for you, and if you are retired then there's no reason why that can't be two lot's of 3 hours overnight and an hours nap in the afternoon and another in the evening... if only society could catch up with the myth we'd have a more productive workforce that weren't dozing off at their desks in the afternoon.Very Happy

Camilla's Avatar I remember too you saying FN that was it your dear mother who said... don't worry about not sleeping when one is older just sleep when one can.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar Society is very good at perpetuating the 8 hours a night myth, they do like us to fit into neat little tick boxes.Rolling Eyes
