Re:
Fennie's Avatar Oh - apostrophes! I wrote a comment a couple of hours ago and a good comment too and now it has disappeared. Is there a gremlin in the system or did I forget to press comment? I am sort of watching the rugby though in truth I am not really a rugby fan and only watch it because in Wales it is de rigeur to watch. A religion and not watching the rugby would be like not going to church 100 years ago.

Anyway my comment, Camilla, on your lovely picture was to say that it reminded me very much of the terrace behind Béatrice and Jean-Charles Fournier's house in Clisson where I stay, thanks to their hospitality when I go to Clisson. Exactly the same roses, headge and plants in pots and no doubt a trellis above on which roses or a vine or both keep you cool on a hot day. But on the other side of the hedge is the railway along which express trains to Nantes thunder and upset the tranqullity, though trains in their sound are never quite as intrusive as cars and lorries and seem more civilised over your Muscadet.

Enjoy your son's visit. Dutiful son - double tick goldstar. Very HappyVery Happy

Withy Brook's Avatar Wales won! Wales are leading! Wales have played 3 and won 3.
I may live in Northumberland but my heart is in Wales!
Enjoy having your son, Camilla. So glad you are not having to cook.

Well done to Wales, not that I am welsh although I gave my son a welsh name and my two late uncles were welsh.
Very Happy My grandson has a middle welsh name too.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Thank you Fennie and Withy, lovely to see my son, and yes no cooking for me tonight. Just returned back home after being treated by son for a wonderful meal at our local pub. I had fish pie, salmon and prawns served with fresh veg, choc ice cream to follow. I must admit I pushed the boat out with drinks... 2 double brandy's, and a large glass of Shiraz red, lets hope I can sleep tonight.!

Met a lovely family at the pub sitting at the table to next to us. As you know I love to socialise, they had a lovely sweet dog a Lhaso Apso named Sophia aged 5 who had a diamond collar on with her name on too. The family were in Winterton for a long weekend to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Father and son, and son's wife and mother, The father was a Scotsman and loved a beer, they live in Northampton. Very Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I met a dog too this evening - a Jack Russell called Patch. In fact there were three Jack Russell the other two were Kipper and Dotty. Brown and white (or rather tan) and a couple had long hair. We were out to dinner with friends. I was driving so only had half a glass of wine with the meal which was salmon with sweet chili sauce, then a stew cooked lamb with risotto and afterwards some stuffed peaches and cream. All very good. Yes Wales won and France, too, but Scotland lost.
Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Fancy that Fennie, another Patch, I am sure that one is probably not as excited as my one.Very Happy Patch is all white apart from one brown ear but he has a lot of patches on his under belly hence his name.

Your meal sounds lovely Fennie, although I would have to forgo the lamb, HL loves lamb too.

The people who were sitting at the table at pub last night next to us one of the men was born in Scotland and had a very pronounced Scots voice. He left with his family for an hour and then they came again for their booked meal, I presume they left originally to watch the end of the Football.
