Cowart's Common Room
Minecraft

I am sitting here in bed surrounded by two small people engrossed in their tablets having being wakened at 6.57 am by said young people demanding to know our new wifi code (I had forgotten it had changed as we now have superfast (allegedly) fibre (allegedly) broadband). Theo is playing Minecraft for which it seems you need a PhD even to collect rabbits. I still haven't a clue what the point is. Theo has just been attacked by a Zombie, a Creeper and a giant spider all just looking like lumps of Lego but nevertheless needing to be 'vapourised.' Beanie seems to be blowing up buildings with something called Angry Birds. At least they are not sitting on me is all I can say.

I have been listening to the music from 'Love Story.' whose composer, Francis Lai, died the other day at some grand age. I love his music. He was an accordionist.

Later after breakfast we have to take the small ones into Cardiff to return them to their parents. We are all meeting in a 'Yoga Centre' which is having a bring and buy sale or some such and where we can get some lunch (allegedly) though whether it will be worth eating is another matter. The Centre is in a part of Cardiff impossible to reach by normal travel so thank heavens for Sat Nav. Anyway my tummy is rumbling so I think I had better boil myself an egg against the depredations of the day. Theo will have branflakes; Beanie and inside- out Pizza (don't ask!).

Have a good day folks.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Morning Fennie and All,

Thank you for posting for the larks Fennie.

You was awake early Fennie with the little ones, like my two little ones when they come to stay they seem to be awake at a very unsociable hour and full of beans. It was not the same was it in our day, no tablets or PC's, just a reading book or colouring book or sketch book, jigsaw puzzles to keep us entertained.

Yes lovely theme to Love Story I think I had the record years ago but think my HL threw out with all other albums when we moved.

Enjoy your day with your family Fennie, not sure about Pizza for brekkiesVery Happy

I take it inside out pizza is essentially a cheese and tomato toastie of some sort?

I'd like to think lunch at a Yoga Centre would at least be tasty, healthy and nutritious - even if it is vegan and probably features chickpeas and some sort of unidentifiable green gloop. Cool

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Well we went to the Yoga centre and I was introduced to this 69 year old woman who looked fit and well but unfortunately also 69. I suppose in poor light she might have passed for 59 but she wasn't the sort of stunning revelation that YD had led me to believe, though she was a lovely person who gave me a hug for no good reason at all and certainly acted much younger than her 69. On offer at lunch was orange gloop (pumpkin soup) and lots of interesting artefacts, were for sale. I bought a hand made bird box for £10. though the hole was low down rather than high up, so low down that I fear the nestlings might easily fall overboard, and it had a kangaroo attached to the front. I asked why but the man who had made it said while it might be a kangaroo it could also be a camel or a llama. Another nice lady was trying to sell a banjo which Theo tried to tune when one of the strings snapped and he was very upset. I gave the lady a few pounds to pay for the string and she gave him a miniature bust of Nefertiti so that he would have a good experience to remember and not a bad one, although at nine his egyptology is a tad shaky.

Otherwise it was just very cold, being an open air fete in the teeth of a northerly gale but the Yoga-ists didn't seem to mind and just went about being infuriatingly nice to everyone and drinking the pumpkin soup. You really did feel you had dropped through floorboard like Alice and into a munchkin world, I was quite glad to get away before someone tied me in knots. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Laughing At least it was pumpkin gloop soup not unidentifiable green gloop soup.
