Cowart's Common Room

Life is interesting, isn’t it?
Two or three nights ago, OH’s first cousin died aged 98. Last night his great niece gave birth to a son, Sam, making him a great great uncle!
God taketh away and God giveth!

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Yes without this sort of thing the human race would soon die out! What I like to remind people when talking about the Neolithic 'Stone Age' is that those folk were only 250 of these five generation spans before us. Will we get through another of these 6,000 year periods? Or will we be killed off by climate change or nuclear war? Nature has a way of taking us all back to the beginning and starting again as she did with the dinosaurs and all the other animals caught up in the mass extinctions in the geological record. Hopefully one or two of us might survive, though I doubt we'd be any wiser. O God our help in ages past, Our hope in years to come. . .

But good luck to Sam and congratulations to his family. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Beautiful morning here lots of lovely bright sunshine good to see none of that torrential rain we had here yesterday.

The washing machine is on doing a full load and working fine, Gordon came yesterday and was here an hour and half fixing it long time as he had to put on new longer hoses and fit a new heating pump which was the cause why it stopped working in the first place I found out. Only charged us £85 so pleased about that. He told me his mother was Scottish hence his name Gordon .Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Just returned home from a long walk over the dunes with Patch, freezing cold as the afternoon wore on wish I had a nice cosy fire to sit round to but the heating will kick in later for a couple of hours to warm.

Hear it is the shooting season at the moment I just hope any Geese flying over for the winter stay safe.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Managed to sprain my left hand today, think it must have been when Patch pulls on the lead, I have an extended lead for his harness but he still pulls, needs some training to heel me thinks.Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Very quiet here today, where is everyone.Very Happy off to cook Spag Bol now, later I shall settle down to an evening's viewing with Grantchester, Homes Fires first though love that drama pity the BBC decided to cut the final story originally but I hear there is a book version out now, would rather watch the rest of the drama on TV but shall enjoy the repeats.

Enjoy your evening everyone.
Very Happy
