Cowart's Common Room
Lark Post

Morning Larks,

Heavy rain showers this morning and a keen cool breeze, we are expected to reach 21 degrees later today though and hopefully the rain will wave goodbye.

Still not sure what to do about the Hollyhocks, some of the tall stems still have some flowers on them which is amazing, but do I cut right back later this month, or do I leave them just as they are.. answers on a postcard please.Very Happy Cut the front lawns yesterday and pruned my solitary climbing Rose bush in the rear garden so that's two things ticked off my list of to do.

Have a good day everyone.Very Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Morning Camilla. Wet here underfoot this morningn and a dramatic sky but not actually raining and little wind. No hollyhocks eitherCrying or Very sad I think you need to ask a gardener what to do but if it were me I think I would leave them until they had dried off and then cut them back.

Had a big order yesterday - the last of its type no doubt - for 32,000 labels cut into strips and wound up in reels of 100. So we shall be quite busy for a week.

Watched a Poirot last evening and then wished I hadn't for although the programmes are beautifully made and excellently acted, they are tedious, implausible, unconvincing and ultimately so silly that it's a wonder how they get competent actors to appear in them. Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Patch is off his food at the moment, so shall see how today pans out with him... I worry about him but if he begins barking loudly for the postman later this morning as he normally does then he can't be that bad but even so not good for him not to have an appetite.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Ooh, didn't notice your comment Fennie a few minutes ago... yes I thought too that perhaps I should cut the Hollyhocks back just if I do I hope they shoot up again next July.

The mornings always seem to be wet now even if it is not raining, Autumn Mists no doubt and I have noticed recently how much darker it is getting quicker in the evenings.

Gosh that is a big order Fennie for your labels.! Is it usually busy the business just before Christmas I wonder? I know your business will be winding down by November.

Yes I watched Poirot last night too seen it before though but fell off to sleep just before the end. I do think though that David Suchet is quite wonderful for the part.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Grantchester is a good Drama Fennie, filmed in Cambridge of course hence it's name... it's on every Friday night on ITV3 watching repeats at the moment but I hear they are making a new series at the moment of the Drama.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar A nice start to this morning but now there's a fog bank rolled in from the sea and it's getting greyer and cooler by the minute. Neutral

We like Poirot too, nice gentle watching that doesn't need too much brain input.
Sod's law you'll get no end of orders between now and November Fennie, just when your trying to wind it down a bit! Laughing

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Patch is much better thanks Fennie, back to his usual naughty selfVery Happy but then after his brekkies this morning he decided to throw the whole lot up luckily he did it in the garden, probably being greedy gushed it down too quickly.
