Cowart's Common Room
Sunday Lark

Morning Larks,

Well I have survived the night after such fierce strong winds here yesterday. This morning it is bright and sunny with a slight chill and just a gentle breeze. Been out and swept all the debris of leaves from the garden patio, made stable more the Hollyhocks which I have to say are still blooming and vigorous although most of the petals are over now, still have to make a decision whether to cut right back later this month or leave them and hope they flower again next year.

No plans for today but more walks over the dunes later with Patch.

Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Re:
Fennie's Avatar And a happy stress-free, Sunday to you, too, Camilla. We are off in a few minutes to the Amelia Trust Farm which is a charity - a sort of instructional farm, designed for children and families. It is about a quarter of an hour away. I have never been. We are meeting YD and the grandchildren there. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Thank you Fennie, you too. Enjoy your day with your family, think there is the same sort of charity near here on the Broads.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar We've gone from warm sunshine and Studio door open yesterday to cold grey miserable, door shut and fires on this morning. Rolling Eyes
Autumn seems to have gone straight to winter for the moment.

Have fun down on the farm Fennie, and on the dunes Camilla.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar We had our Harvest Festival yesterday. It was a benefice service so quite well attended but not like the old days. Where were all the farmers? The appalling farming year was acknowledged in the sermon and prayers.
I can’t remember an autumn with such up and down weather! Hot one minute cold the next. Wet one day, sunny the next calm one day and strong winds the next. Don’t know what to wear each day!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Used to love going to the Church Harvest Festival in London years ago Withy.

Did you see last nights Countryfile programme they spoke a lot on the future of the farming and how it is at the moment.

I was sad to learn that the pretty Seahorses are now extinct, such a shame.

Re what to wear with clothes and our weather, I have made sure now that I wear lighter clothing still but wear a cardi and light autumn jacket. Mind you I was dressed up for winter one day last week it was freezing, strong winds and raining heavily.
