Cowart's Common Room
Contented Lark

Another morning of blue and cloudless sky. More water is leaving the earth via transpiration than is falling upon it. We shall soon be frazzled.

Yesterday I put a second chair out on the lawn beneath the (spreading, rapidly) chestnut tree and a little table as well. Despite the lawn being tiny it is like a terrace or secret garden, shaded by the trees, bounded by an impenetrable hedge on one side and the house on the other with a laden greengage tree in the middle and with a vista of walnut, medlar, blueberries and hibiscus with a wisteria in the background. It is an oasis of peace. I am not sure how I have acheived this happy felicity non gardener as I am, but is is perfect for reading - or even just sitting and watching the birds and the insects and the blue welkin. We lack only for the roses to put on a display and then the scarlet and vermilion of the nasturtiums to come tumbling out of their pots to seed a veritable cloth of gold. Happy days to all. Re:
Fennie's Avatar The sooner you plant one the sooner it will flower. Mine came from Homebase, in a pot already and with big flowers. It is now in a larger pot.Very HappyVery Happy
