Cowart's Common Room
Owl Post

Uploaded Image

It seems we haven't had an owl post for a long time. So here is an owl and for all I know it may be sitting on a post looking for mice. But in this weather surely all good mice are well tucked up in the wainscotting - now there is a word that you don't see every day - and the owls must go hungry. Owls can't go vegetarian with those beaks, can they. They would be hard pressed on Faith's lawn among the pidgies. So you can perhaps forgive them for thinking it would be easier to let the mice eat the grain and then for them to eat the mice.

No great news today, but a little bit of sunshine. I am sitting watching Classic FM on the flatscreen television but where the sound comes from is a mystery. I can see no speakers, yet the quality is good. I shall soon though say goodbye to Haydn to learn more about Queen Jane Grey.

Have a good evening and sleep well.Very HappyVery Happy

Faith's Avatar That owl looks stuffed - reminds me of the poem about the barber and the owl, can't remember the name of it now.

We hear owls sometimes - the mice come out to eat tiny morsels of left over grain and then the owls can eat them. They need so many mice to stay alive - has anyone read that Wesley the owl book?

Camilla's Avatar Thank you kindly Fennie for posting the Owl Post and what better way then the appropriate pic of an Owl. Apologies I have not posted for Owls on the perch for a while, seems to be so far after I had my bad fall and trying to get to sleep earlier with the old hip.!

I love the Owls, in fact they are the favourite bird of my daughter she loves the Barn Owls well any Owls really.

They have to eat the mice to survive even so I feel sorry for the wee mice.

No sunshine here yesterday just very dark and overcast for most of the day and a few rain showers too.

I often have Classic FM on my flat mini iPad to listen to have it as an App on there, but yes one can listen on the TV too these days... how times have changed from years ago. Just imagine listening to Round the Horn all those years ago on a digital device, gone would be all those wonderful colourful old bakerlite radio's.Very Happy

Hope you managed to get a good nights sleep last night Fennie.Very Happy

Fairy Nuff's Avatar The wise old Owl knows that the best way to eat grain is to let the mouse turn it into something tastier and much more juicy. Laughing

Queen Jane, it seems, could have done with more wise old Owls around her than ambitious men, the outlook doesn't look good for tonight's last instalment! Wink

It was a very empty village yesterday so I spent the day listening to the gorgeous Hugh Laurie and his Copper Bottom Band while catching up on stuff around the Studio... gadunk bomp gadunk bomp gaddeee doop de doop.*

*The Phonetic start to "St James' Infirmary" Very Happy
