Cowart's Common Room
Winter Lark

A tiny Dutch sprinkling of snow on the car last evening but that was all we had. And we didn't have to drive anywhere either. Another winter weekend has passed, but I wrote all the Christmas cards and ordered two presents. Everyone is coming to us for Christmas including dogs and lovebird. And because of the winter wetness and darkness and general misery no walk even to the castle. Have a good day everyone.
I don't think it's my turn on the advent cards. Apologies if I have this wrong.Very HappyVery HappyUploaded Image

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Morning Fennie and Everyone,

Thank you for posting Fennie, no snow here at all not even a sprinkling, just very wet here with early rain shower.

I have wrote out some of my cards, a few more still to do and three last minute presents to buy. Was going to hang my festive wreath on the exterior door yesterday which has teeny white led lights around it but discovered this year that the lights are not working when switching on. There are two battery's inside which are GP 1.5V Alkaline AA ones they look longer then your average battery. Don't stock them here so I will have to source them out.

We have been invited to our daughter and son in laws house for Christmas day from mid afternoon onwards our Grandson will be collecting us and taking us back home in the evening in his car that way I shall be able to glug down some spirits.

Very Happy

Lovely pic of the Castle Fennie which I am sure was taken on a warm summers day. Missed Attenborough programme was this the last one?

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Q: What do you call a dear with no eyes?

A: No idea?

Q: What do you call a dead deer with no eyes?

A: Still no idea?

Your deer, Camilla, is very lovely and of course has eyes and is not dead. I wonder what's upon the tree? Winter apples for you and me.Very Happy

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar No snow here but the temperature was down to -6 outside the house and I am told a lorry leaving ar 4.0am said it was several degrees lower. We are burning an awful lot of oil!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Living in our new house we have not used much oil for heat as we have under floor heating it does save on the fuel bill but because it retains the heat once switched off for only a few hours I find it difficult when it gets too hot.

A few wet snow flurrys this afternoon but it did not come to much it has been raining for most of the day.

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar Damn cold here too, quite a melt going on so everything is damp too. Brrrrr.
When we took Mum home last night we noticed a huge and rather dangerous looking icicle hanging off the roof of the top flat next door... thankfully the patch of sheet ice under it means most people aren't walking under it anyway and it's too high to reach to knock it off unless you used a football or suchlike.
