Cowart's Common Room
Murder on the Orient Express

Following on from Fennies post, I have to tell you about a friend of mine who went to see the film. I cannot give you a review because he (my friend) couldn't give you a review either.

For a long time in our only local town with a Cinema there has only been one Cinema. Now there are two and a price war has ensued. My friend wanted to see the film and chose the Cinema which charged £3.00 plus £1.00 for the luxury seating. £4 for a night out, what could go wrong?

He settled down to watch the film, I think it was about the bit where the avalanche happens, as far as I know, about 10 minutes in. Next thing he knew the credits were rolling.

He told me, 'I might not pay for the luxury seating again, after all I can fall asleep at home' 'What worries me is that I may have been snoring'

We had a laugh about if at the time Poirot said 'and the killer is' his words were drowned out by my friends snoring. Rolling Eyes

Fennie's Avatar I think someone would have woken him up if so! Rolling Eyes

We are fortunate in having Chapter - an arthouse cinema (and much else beside) on the west side of Cardiff and close to the bypass so we can get there in 20 mins door to door and for showings around 6pm there is reasonable free car parking, too. Tickets for old fogies line me are usually between £4 and £6 depending on the film, though I think Casablanca, about which I wrote, was only £3. Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Bradan's Avatar I fall asleep in films too, that's why I'm reluctant to go to Screen Machine (mobile cinema that we have here). It's one thing falling asleep in the cinema in Dundee, where nobody knows me, quite another doing it here on the island Embarassed Rolling Eyes

Re:
Fennie's Avatar There have been many times that I have wished I could have fallen asleep in films but I have never had the luck, though I have to confess to falling asleep when watching the news on television.Shocked
