Cowart's Common Room
Sunday Lark

Just in case you thought it might be yesterday but it is Sunday and the sun is shining: a bright autumn morning here, although we are still in August.

I am almost better (I hope) thanks to Younger Daughter's Ayurvedic exercises and feel well enough to participate in the lunch party that we were to have hosted but which, thanks to my indisposition, one of our kind guests volunteered to host instead. So all is, more or less, well though I mustn't get carried away. But three days of not doing anything have left me feeling very lazy and everywhere there are all those little things that have been left undone.

And yesterday sitting in the kitchen I became conscious of a different sort of little thing that gives me endless hours of simple pleasure. It is a little sun-powered motor affixed to the window that twiddles a crystal sending rainbow coloured sunbeams dancing around the kitchen. Of course it only works when the sun shines but it gives much pleasure and all for nothing. In fact I made a list the other day of things that I enjoy doing that I can do time and time again without becoming bored - like sitting under the Pergola in the Physic Garden or watching my sparrows scrapping over their grain.

Last night the Perseid Meteors were showering, I understand, but I did not see them. Did anyone?

Have a good day?

Re:
Fennie's Avatar I don't know I think it is my head that is falling apart - it is Withy's birthday and I didn't mention it. Shades of Eeyore - 'but what are birthdays - here today and gone tomorrow.' I shall run away Withy and find you a balloon or a useful pot to put things in! Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Sorry I am late here busy day, daughter and her husband came over early to collect a garden table from my garage and my old rocking chair which daughter plans to paint and have in her new house, they collected the BBQ too for our grandsons birthday bash next weekend in their house.

Then popped to garden centre to see if they had a Golden Hop plant that I intend to plan against the garden wall but they never had one, came back with a plant which I have forgotten the name of but it had blue flowers so that is why I bought it apparently it turns red in Autumn, planted that up and then walkies with Patch over the beach. Just brought in all the laundry off the line and shall begin cooking soon. I am looking forward to my very large glass of red later.Very Happy
