Cowart's Common Room

Well the Coo is very quiet. Hush, hush, whisper who dares, the Coo is asleep and dreaming of hares. Hares? Well I suppose so. Though there are no hares in Wimbledon thought there are plenty of hairs that have to be kept out of the way with bandanas or editors' capettes or with a judicious knot or two in a hair bangle. I watched a bit of the tennis yesterday - The match in fact, the one everyone is talking about, though every time I got bored and got up to do something there was a break of serve. Always the way. Anyway well done Joanna Konta and commiserations to Simona Halep who looked fierce and determined but managed to produce defeat from the jaws of victory.

I do hope the Coo merely has its feet up and isn't beset with tragedy. Or maybe it cannot bear any more posts from me and has turned its face to the wall. Or maybe it thinks that ten years is long enough. But there we are. Why doesn't panetone ever go stale? I found some yesterday left over from Christmas, took a slice and it tasted fine and not a bit stale, or mouldy despite all other foodstuffs going mouldy in two weeks in this weather including even the marmalade. But not willing to risk more than a slice I put it out for the birds who thus have had an Italian breakfast this morning. They will be demanding coffee and croissants next.

Take care everyone and smile (or take a St John's Wort tablet) and have a good day.Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar I am with you on watching the tennis, Fennie! Try to read the paper in between but then it gets really exciting and I have to stop and watch properly. It is great that Jo is in th E semi finals but fear Williams will be too much for her, this season but she could be a winner in a year or two.
I hope Camilla is OK.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Morning Fennie and Withy and everyone,

A very fierce wind blowing today my hollyhocks have been bashed about with it all, much heavy rain in the night too. The sun is trying to peep through the clouds.

Thank you kindly Fennie for posting for the larks what would we do without you, and no Fennie we could never bore with all your lovely posts that's for sure.

Love that pic in black and white think you have posted before somewhere in France I believe. Gorgeous Hare pic as you know I have a passion for Hares, Rabbits too actually.

Not been watching much tennis even though it is my favourite sport can watch in catch up later though I always try and watch live though the men's and women's finals which we know will be this weekend.

As for Bandana's my little Patch had his wash and clip yesterday evening and all finished off with a doggy fresh scent, he ran round the room like a loon when he came in I am sure he feels a lot better after having all that mucky long hair cut. First time we have used a different mobile dog groomer since moving house, Maria the groomer is really lovely so that has put my mind to rest I shall be using her again. She also she tells me has her FB page and at present has set up a Competition there to win a doggy Bandana, I have entered for Patch of course.Very Happy

I should think your little birds are very grateful this morning for putting out the Panetone Fennie lucky birds!

Quite a stressful taxing day yesterday wondering how things were going to go, shall post an update on the forums when I get time. Thanks Withy, I am okay.

Have a good day everyone .Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar My grandson is working in a restaurant/pub at the moment while he has his summer holidays off from college. A couple of evenings ago two famous celebrities came in to eat there. It was Timothy West and Prunella Scales husband and wife and the film crew was there too. Perhaps the location where it is will be featured in a near future episode of their lovely programmes on TV Canal Journeys, I hope so.Very Happy
