Cowart's Common Room

...the little girl that brought her hamster into the Vets because it hadn't moved for three days and just sat at the side of the cage not eating, drinking or doing anything.
They asked her if anything had happened that may have caused it, she said he had escaped a few days before but they found him behind the fridge.

The vet takes a look at it and Hammy is running around the table quite the thing, eating and drinking very happily.
Then they noticed something in his cheek pouch and take a look... it's a fridge magnet... the only thing wrong with the hamster was he was stuck to his metal cage because he had a fridge magnet in his cheek! Laughing

Camilla's Avatar Aw, bless him. Poor little love.Very Happy

Hopefully he will now be alright being checked over by the vet, let's hope no more fridge magnets will be used again.

My eldest granddaughter's little Hamster Steady Eddie has not long passed away she and her husband was quite upset about it. They had not long returned from Africa on a honeymoon holiday and the Hamster was being looked after by a family friend. I think Eddie missed them I am sure animals do get attached to their owners even if it is a Hamster.

Fairy Nuff's Avatar I suppose hamsters, like rabbits tend to just switch off in the end.

Bradan's Avatar I thought this was a joke when I first heard about it. I couldn't believe they would wait three days before doing anything! I didn't know hamsters could survive that long without water anyway, it must have some camel genes.
