Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls and Larks,

Well the day turned out much hotter than expected and not hardly a breath of wind but a lovely day and at least it was not raining of which we are to have much by tomorrow morning . A thunder storm is on the horizon with maybe some flooding and disruption to roads it says. Batten down the hatches!Very Happy

Although the two little baby collared doves fledged on 1st July they still stay in the vicinity here. I am intrigued to know though whether the one I see sitting on the same nest again is either one of the young ones or indeed could it be the female adult dove who is going to two new baby eggs again. I know the collared doves can have up to nine separate hatches throughout the year. I am sure Faith will know but she is at the moment enjoying being with her own little second baby grandson and busy helping with family.

A lovely afternoon spent over at our daughters house today. We skipped the fish and chip supper on the way home and decided instead to have Quiche Lorraine with red cherry toms, and green spinach salad, new potatoes and French green beans. Ice cream and apricots for desert and all washed down with a fine bottle of Chardonny crisp white wine.Very Happy

Lamps out soon, if you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Hallo Camilla, good morning. Yes I did look in briefly but must have missed you by a minute or two.

Love that picture of the Girl on the Swing in the early morning with the unicorn in the background watching the proceedings.

Sounds as though you had a healthier supper, Camilla. Did you bake the quiche? One more for Withy's Gourmet supper.Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Dear friends have you no imagination?

There is a unicorn there, but you have to believe it to see it. Unicorns only show themselves to true believers. There's also a second unicorn in front of the girl on the swing and she is looking at it warily wondering whether, if she alights on its back it will take off - which is of course a misapprehension as unicorns do not have wings or the muscles to work those wings. They do run like the wind though and would soon spirit her over the hills and far away - or maybe this is over the hills and far away and she has arrived by unicorn with a second unicorn in the background to take her back again. (Unicorns do sometimes run out of puff!) Make friends with the unicorns and your life will become magical and bright. Do weave a garland of flowers to place around its neck though and never feed a unicorn chocolate. Very HappyVery Happy

Camilla's Avatar Ah yes of course the art of ones imaginationVery Happy

This morning while looking in a cupboard for my blue patterned ceramic flower pot which was pushed to the back I discovered inside a little white stoneware Tinker Bell figurine I had forgotten I had put it there inside the pot when I moved house. The little Tinker Bell was given to me many years ago by my late dear departed friend, the friend who used to live in a cottage here in Norfolk with a river bank at the end of her garden. The figurine has a small ledge to it so it can be placed over a garden flower pot on the outside. She had no name I just call her Tinker Bell and she has wings so I like to think when nighttime falls she flys around the garden sprinkling friendly wishes.Very Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Ah but just wait until the unicorn has eaten some of Camilla's awesome quiche and been anointed by Tinkerbell's wand. Or Tinkerbell might just shrink the girl on the swing to fit the unicorn and eat the quiche herself.
