Cowart's Common Room
I Can't Sleep Chat Post

Hello Owls and Larks.

Late evening and the temperature is 22degrees here at the moment well that is what it says on weather local chart.Very Happy hope all owls and larks are well and managing to stay cool.

Some other person in the cottage decided to spray around the room excessive fly spray I would ban these if I could reason being full of chemicals and I felt like I had swallowed a whole pepper pot earlier, in fact my throat siezed up! Lots of water drunk and no doubt I will survive.

A strange noise in the middle of the night last night, it only lasted for a few seconds but it felt like the noise of a thunderstorm but without the rain also as though the roof was about to be lifted off.

Lamps out soon, if you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Yes I don't like fly spray! But we aren't troubled by flies. The insect quotient around here is virtually nil.

Don't know what the temperature is here now in the bedroom. I'd guess about 28, perhaps. The slate roof makes the inside of the house like an oven. A case of sleeping on rather than in the bed.

Your strange noise might have been thunder - an electrical discharge - you never know. Anyway sleep well, dear Camilla

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Ooooh a bed has appeared and a book! Maybe even a down pillow that we are always reading about. The room looks cool too. I will have to slip away as I have just this moment remembered that I should be taking my Blood Pressure for the doc when I see her in July. She wants pressure reading night and morning - but I am forgetful. Still so far so good.Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Hello Fennie lovely to see you on the old perch Very Happy

There are hardly any flys here either but if one does happen to fly in then that's it! I would just leave it myself knowing me I would even invite it for dinner.Very Happye

Fennie have you thought about investing in a little electric fan, they are not very expensive I have had mine for ages and helps to cool .

Yes could have been thunder I heard the other night Fennie it only lasted a few seconds.

Thanks Fennie. Sleep well too.Very Happy

Camilla's Avatar On iPad tonight Fennie pics are limited and always smaller Very Happy

How long do you have to take your BP readings for Fennie? Right up to end of July?

Posted by: Camilla on 19th Jun 2017 at 11:29PM

Re:
Fennie's Avatar No, just every other day for a fortnight. At the moment they are supergood as I have little to stress me. This all arose because they were dangerously high when ```I visited the hospital but then it was first thing in the morning and I had been rushing. I told them to take them again at the end of their examination but they wouldn't. Crazy. Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Well done Fennie for keeping the BP going each day, HL has an important appointment early in the morning will update tomorrow.

I have booked Patchcockle with mobile dog groomer 11th July the earliest I could get the groomer Maria says her diary is fully booked until then, so it will be a short back and sides for my little terrier.

Very Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Anyway I think I must try to get some sleep, so I shall say night night and sleep well. I'll think about a fan, but I'm usually OK. Big brave soldier and all that. Watched lovely programme on Billy Connolly on iPlayer. Sleep well, Camilla. Thanks for pics and posts.Very HappyVery Happy

Re:
Fennie's Avatar Oh I should have said good luck tomorrow. Must be an incredibly stressful time for both of you. We'll be sending out the Purple vibes.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Ah that's good then Fennie, yes rushing will make agitated and stress you more Fennie. They should have taken your BP a little later when you arrived but I expect they have busy case loads with other patients they were unable to. As ever busy busy NHS.

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Yes Billy Connelly just turned 75 I believe the Scottish artist who has an Italian name whose name escapes me at the moment painted some huge wall murals to celebrate Connelly's birthday.

Thank you Fennie, not sure how the results will go yet, will let you know.

Night night Fennie sleep well, and to stay cool ovr'e la fenetre.Very Happy

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Morning Fennie and everyone,

Glad you slept reasonably well Fennie, I tossed and turned all night so no doubt ze old energy levels will be down today, but today is much cooler which is much agreeable for me only 18 degrees here which suits me well, the heat we have been having has been too hot for me to handle. Very Happy

Ah yes that's the one Jack Vettriano I never knew his dialect was Scottish I always thought he spoke Italiano, obviously has Italian genes with that surname though.

And talking of handles I came across a funny quote the other day of Triggers, it's had seven new heads and five new handles but it's still the same old broom.Very Happy

Re:
Fairy Nuff's Avatar LaughingJack Vettriano is an ex coal miner from Fife Camilla, not quite as romantic a beginning!
I rather like him (and his work) no pretensions just good honest art, something the art establishment doesn't take kindly too, they still haven't wholly accepted him as the hugely successful painter he is.
I don't think they like the fact he is self taught.

Fly spray is banned around me it gives me asthma. Not quite so hot up here but perfectly pleasant, just nice as far as I'm concerned, can't hack the heat if it's too hot.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar If the flies are too bad I spray at night as I go up to bed.
We keep sticky strips hanging in the kitchen and conservatory. They don't look nice but do deal with a lot of flies. You have to be careful which sort you get though. And hang them where there is no chance of getting caught yourself!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Ah yes thanks FN, that's the one Jack Vettriano. I had no idea his early career was a Miner. Yes I rather like him too, had no idea he made his art into a print thought they were paintings. My son has The Singing Butler in his house a wedding present from a guest. I love it too.

I am asthmatic anyway so that could it have been it FN too like you with the fly spray. I have told my HL never to use it again in the house because of my attack let's hope he heeds to it.

Camilla's Avatar Ah yes know the ones you mean Withy good for getting rid of the flys away from food but would not like to listen to the cracking sound when they fly on it, what a way to go .Very Happy
