Cowart's Common Room

Well, well - what a miserable evening it is. Rain, grey skies and a terrible sense of 'fin de si├Ęcle.' I am cursing to find that the job of Secretary to the local trust here that I volunteered for is turning out to be far more work than I had expected and unproductive work at that. Like being chained to a galley. Nor are the folk the sort of folk that I would normally want to spend time with. I keep feeling I am in a nightmare and want to wake up. How long do I have to endure this? 3 years I suppose. So I need a hug. For enduring and being a Pillar of the Community. Bah Humbug.

But there we are. And talking of pillars, there was some rare good news today for (cater) pillars of the lesser wax moth, used to spending their lives demolishing beehives from the inside, will, if push comes to shove, eat polythene bags instead. Or so we are told by reputable news organisations. They are the goats of the insect world, so all we need to do is to spread the little fellows on the grass verges and we shall soon be spick and span and free from plastic litter. Who knows they might even eat those indestructible coffee cups sold by the likes of Starbucks. The scientists of course want to short circuit the process and discover what enzymes the caterpillars produce so they can just spray our bins and the ocean too perhaps, although I am not sure that that is a good idea. But imagine we might soon be eating fried caterpillars fed on plastic. On second thoughts perhaps not.

Anyway have a good evening and sleep well. I am off to watch the programme on the art of Saint Petersburg which I missed yesterday.Very HappyVery Happy

PS The purple vibrations of an army of caterpilars to the Owl and any others afflicted by aches, pains, sadness or other weakness of the flesh.

Camilla's Avatar I should have sent some of our Winterton sunshine over to you today Fennie. Sorry to hear more work than you first thought at the local trust of which you are the Secretary, I should think it involves quite a lot Fennie and with emails and letters and meetings too.
