Fennie's Avatar Well that looks to be something festering in the fridge or the vegetable rack: or perhaps you want to know what the mould is? I always thought it was the same mould they put in Saint Augur or in Stilton, but I don't think it is, but it may be, you never know and Wikipedia isn't much help either. I had wanted to know why blue mould is blue, except that it isn't. It is a sort of greeny grey and it isn't good for you when you eat it in quantity - so I know from personal experience that the blue mould on bread is not the same as the blue mould in cheese; or maybe it is the black mould that is dangerous I cannot remember. But why mould should be green - ah there's a question and a half. We laugh at little green men and frogs and chameleons also are green along with moulds.

But I don't suppose Faith wanted us to go here. So the short answer, Faith, is I have no idea. But Faith thank you for posting. You have saved me a job. The lark is sleepy and not feeling as bright as a button - larks being morning creatures. And no doubt Camilla will be along before bedtime with a post for the owls. And Casablanca is tomorrow not today according to my diary. Save the popcorn. Another day to practice your inner swede (or turnip!). Very HappyVery Happy

Fennie's Avatar In Welsh we would say 'Ach y fi' which means 'that's a really disgusting sort of a things which I never want to see or smell again so please get rid of it and clear away the mess this minute before I come after you with my slipper.' Very HappyVery Happy

Camilla's Avatar You do make me laugh Fennie and I could do with a laugh at the moment feeling so wretched with my back, hope I don't have to be carried on a stretcher like my son was when he hurt his back, I am now concerned I won't be able to drive the car back from garage. Sorry to hog your post Faith.

Is the pic perhaps old underneath wallpaper not gone mouldy just looks like wallpaper does look like when you peel off the top layer.

Camilla's Avatar It does look slimy perhaps it is a dead slug. Although it looks like there is a rip in the pic.

KitKatCot's Avatar Is it milk that's 'gone off'?

Fairy Nuff's Avatar You say 'Ach y fi' I say "Jeezoh! that's mingin' " Neutral

It looks like a mouldy bit of bacon fat but I don't know what the other slimy bit is or the white bit behind it...whatever it is I'm not eating it!

Faith's Avatar Well you have guessed it because it is mould but I didn't think when I took the photo that it looked like mould, so hoped to trick you! KKC - yes it is milk or rather yoghurt left at the back of the fridge.

Fennie, I don't know how you pronounce Ach y fi, but my first husband used to say what sounded like Akky vee when something was too disgusting to eat (egg sandwiches in his opinion!) and I just thought it was some funny expression that his family had made up! So about 40 years later you have put me straight!
