Mussels on the rocks at Porthtowan in Cornwall.
The mussels seem to be surviving despite the fishing line.

Blackbird's Avatar Do they 'plant' mussels? I'm wondering if the fishing line came first or later?

Lily's Avatar There are some "planted" mussel beds in Cornwall e.g. in the Fal estuary but these on the beach just occur naturally.
As Fairy Nuff says at least the mussels have stopped the fishing line harming any other creatures.
