Cowart's Common Room
Josie Russell

I have just seen Josie Russell on BBC Wales. She is the girl whose mother and sister were brutally murdered and she was badly injured. She is now creating wonderful textile work which she sells. Follow the link if you are interested.
She is an inspiration to all.

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar She is indeed an inspiration. Her work is lovely. I like the fact too, that her website makes no mention of her past history so unless you knew it you would take her as you found her.

Faith's Avatar I'll have a look at the site. Everyone of course remembers Josie and her poor mum, Lin and sister, Megan.... and the dog, who I think was called Lucy. Josie's dad eventually married one of Lin's friends, Primrose. Unforgettably shocking case.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you for posting this Twiglet, her work is really lovely.

As Faith said, such a tragic case of Josie's sister and her mum, and the dog Lucy. Josie is an inspiration to us all, I wish her the very best of luck with her future craft business.

CalicoKate's Avatar I agree with everything above! Love the landscapes, really clever use of fabric patterns and textures.

Westerwitch's Avatar A wonderful tribute and an inspiration for anyone whose life has been devastated that you don't have to allow your life to be destroyed forever.
