My PC died
I may not be around much, as I blew up my computer this morning. Hurrah I hear you cry ....
Power supply went up in smoke, and using my son's iMac is enough to drive me completely insane (well alright I am already)
Try not to miss me too much

No, I won't have lost anything - as I said it's the power supply that went, not the drives. Anyway ::very smug icon:: I always back my PC up, be a pretty stupid IT professional that didn't eh!?
Don't want a Mac either, there are already three in the house (son is a Graphic Designer), and I just don't get along with them, quite apart from the fact they aren't capable of doing the job I need one to do as most the software we need to run for work won't run on a Mac. (They aren't IBM 3270 compatible, which is essential when working on mainframes)

Zoe, sorry to hear about the power supply. It's also refreshing to hear someone defend PC's. Particularly when that someone, like you, has been in the computer field for so long.Best wishes! xo

Nope Mags, just stuck a cannibalised a power supply from an old computer that was sat in the garage, and despite the fact it has a lower power output than the original it seems to be holding up, although I havent plugged any of the peripherals back in yet. Will order a new Power Supply, when I have found the right one and just replace it. The 'puter I use was home built anyway, and I just upgrade it every now and then. The case is probably the oldest original component on it, as it came to life about 8 years ago, recently added another 1G of ram, and it got a flat screen for Xmas a couple of years ago.
