Hoping to go over to see my Daughter and Grandchildren this weekend, really looking forward to it. This Christmas will be the first one we will be spending with my son's partner, can't believe the festive season will soon be here.!
Whatever you are doing for the weekend have a great one.
Just going to take a tour of the site, see you later owlys.
If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Re:
Only one more day to go before my two weeks of vacation time!
Today was busy for me, too, Camilla, as I am trying to tie up some of the loose ends, and prepare to pass the baton to my assistant. Of course by this evening we were laughing because as many loose ends as we tied together, we just seemed to be sent more loose ones to deal with.
Wish I could have attended today's celebration parade on lower Broadway today, in honor of our baseball team, the Yankees, winning the world series championship. I have been to some of these before, and they are great fun.
Almost supper time here. Rice as a base tonight rather than that pasta.
Be back soon.

Re:
I guess I feel more relieved, than excited. It is going to be so grand to have each day up to my own wishes. No outside demands.
I want to see old friends, to work on crafty stuff, to see art in exhibits and make some of my own. My budget is tight as ever, but I hope to have some lunches that I do not prepare myself. I want to paint lots of this year's Christmas cards, to get ahead of the supply/demand curve. I want to be able to stay up late and sleep late the next day. Walk more in Central Park. And so much more.
Hoping that your Tigger is doing better. xo

Re:
I think that my assistant will have a great chance to grow in her position, and know that other shop managers in our district will be on hand to help her.
My rice had chicken, shallots, carrots, cremini mushrooms and sugar snap peas. Well, they were sauted in butter with various herbs and a bit of turmeric. Delicious!
Bet that your prawns were also quite yummy.
It's wonderful to begin to think about Christmas.

RE
Thank you, my Daughter used to live nearby here, but when she married for the second time a year ago this September she moved to the Norfolk Broads as her husband already has his home there. So the trip to her is about 45 mins by car.
My Grandson is getting along very well thank you Tiggy, he has decided to do a documentary film with photo's taken by the Surgeon for the class so that his class mates will see what the severity of his condition was. His school chums were so delighted to see him back to school, he went back on Wednesday.
I will update my thread on Grandson over in the Forums tomorrow.

Your supper sounds yummy, I have been having less meat dishes for quite a while now, my HL bought some Lamb, but it is one meat that I will not eat.
Christmas seems to be here quickly, I do think time is just whizzing by, even though that 24 hour clock is the same.

Re:
Tiggy, I hope that Tigger can cheer up- it helps with staying well but it's hard for people- especially this time of year with less light.
Frances- how exciting, two weeks of vacation. If it was me, it would be hard to stay away but be strong and enjoy your days.

Re:
I have corned beef in the oven and should be fixing the rest of it.
It's been a difficult day here in Seattle. We had a police officer shot in his car on Halloween and his memorial service was today. I stayed close to the television, watching the procession, the service and crying off and on. He was 39 with young children and it's just so sad. There hasn't been any other news on our stations so I'm cut off from the rest of the terrible news across the nation.

I hope you take the time to do some of your own art work.

Re:
We're just hearing news that the police have found the car involved in the shooting so they're hopeful. A $105,000 reward for the tip.
The police officer was training a rookie when a car came up next to them and opened fire. The rookie saw the motion and ducked down- still shot across her back. But then, she called for assistance and then got out and returned fire. Pretty amazing in someone just out of the academy.
It's such a hard job to do in the best of times but we're grateful that they do it.

Re:
Frances, did I read correctly that you and your assistant are women at loose ends or are loose women? (Bear couldn't quite make that out.) Seems, though, that you were having fun in the process. And now you're taking off for two weeks? Good for you! (And good for the Yankees, too! Beat those Brooklyn Dodgers again! Oh wait; that was about 1956-57-58. Time flies; sorry to re-hash ancient history.)
Tiggy and Camilla -- getting ready for family time! Wonderful. Always good to get together with family. (Bear is sad to hear Tigger is not doing so well. Bear has ongoing illnesses and gets depressed, too. Making contact with others is helpful; has Tigger any interest at all in blogging, or e-mail or whatever? Even reading other olk's blogs?)
Doesn't appear that Tiddles and the clock have received their proper attention for the night. That said, Bear will take appropriate action.
Now the big question; all points heard from except Puffin. Are you all right tonight, my good bird?
Bear needs to attend to Sadie pup. And this small print is beastly on the eyes, Can Bear-ly read it. TTFN.
Sleep well, good Owls!

Re:
It is great to have you on the perch while some of the rest of the owls are still hovering.
Think that the truly marvelous Camilla has taken the required measures with regard to cat and clock. She is marvelous!
At my shop, I am the one having the two week vacation. My assistant now has the chance to step up to the plate. That is a way again say ... the Yankees are the baseball champions! Plate... home plate ... the place that baseball scores its runs.
Wishing you the best with regard to your eyes, Bear.
Just wish that I could send this along to you in a bigger font.
Signing off now, dear owls. xo
