Cowart's Common Room
Miracles will never cease!
Ever the cynic, I had decided to try and put my experiences of both Cancer and Diabetes to positive use, and got involved in helping Macmillan and Diabetes UK campaign for better services for people who are far less well of than me, and adversely affected because of the financial problems both illnesses can and do being to bear on families across the UK.
I merrily wrote letters to politicians and the like, and tried to get the word out in recent months. Apart from the occasional acknowledgement, I think most my letters fell on deaf ears. Much to my surprise, today, I have received an invitation from my local MP, that if we would like some assistance to publicise the Diabetes issues further, he is willing to support us saying 'You have made various suggestions for publicising diabetes issues in my constituency. I would like to suggest that if you or a family member suffer from diabetes and belong to a local support network, then if you would like to arrange a publicity opportunity with a number of constituents for whom this is a personal issue, then I would be glad to try and support this. Please email my diary secretary *******@parliament.uk with your proposals.
Maybe they aren't all useless waste of space after all?
