Cowart's Common Room
Procreation
I have spent a very wet day cleaning out drawers.
Does anyone else have pens and pencils which procreate
There is no other explanation-- they are put into the drawer and instead of the few put in there are now hundreds
How do I cull this population explosion![]()

But I still have my collection of fountain pens, and still try to use them from time to time.
Oh, how sadly fallen!

At the shop we have the opposite phenomenon. The disappearance of whatever it was that you happen to need just NOW. It could be a biro, a pencil with a functioning eraser, new receipt tape for the cash register, the correct sized battery for whatever you need right Now. Oh I could go on. How these necessities do travel through time and space. Calling Dr Who!

RE
I did this yesterday, cleared out my desk and drawers, and found an assortment of pens that have been used up and no use anymore. I am quite picky when it comes to pens, like to write with a fountain pen to write letters and envelopes, but keep biro's for just jotting down things such as shopping lists etc..
I love pencils, hate throwing them out, so always keep a sharpener on hand, have quite a few pencils including some nice ones given with presents and stationary sets, some from Puffin books that have the writing on of....selected letters, and selected essays and poems.
I think we all do it Silverhead, seem to have a bulging supply of pens and pencils tucked away in drawers, me too.
