Re:
I just got home from the quacks to find one sitting on the bread board, 2 on the washing pile, and one in the washing basket. The other 2 made a bee line for the bonnet of my car as soon as I pulled up!
Sneaky critters!
The tiles look familiar? Winchester Tiles?

When I was much younger and living in a flat - only heating a two bar electric fire . . . my cat tried to cuddle up to the fire and set its tail on fire . . . the cat was fine . . . I burned my hand when I grabbed the tail to smother the fire

Re:

I found the photo of the cat in the bread basket (I didn't say the basket was big enough for the cat did I?). We could have a thread on this: Cats in unusual places. I can also give you: Cat stuck in clothes airer; cat in tumble dryer; cat in parcel; cat in newspaper; cat being ironed (cool setting); and cat in bathroom wash basin. What is it with cats?!

RE
Daisy my JRT likes to sit right on top of the marble hearth in front of the fire, quite worrying as I am sure one day she will catch her fur alight, have to keep an eye on her, she loves the warmth of the fireside.

Re:
After walking through their litter tray, licking their bottoms and spreading saliva all over their fur, they lie down where you prepare your family's food...sorry but that's gross.
Now it's probably true that your average person interested in country matters (the demographic for this forum) is more health conscious than most so you will all have heard of toxoplasmosis, cryptospirodiosis, salmonella, bartonellosis etc carried by even healthy cats.
Most zoonotic diseases pose minimal threat; however, some among you may be particularly at risk. Those with immature or weakened immune systems, such as infants, individuals with AIDS, the elderly, and people undergoing cancer therapy, are more susceptible to zoonotic infections than others.
Please be careful..
