Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

It has been a really blustery day today, still blowing hard as I type, raining heavily too.

Clocks go forward by one hour at 2am tomorrow morning, so we will have lost that extra hour in bed, it will though stay lighter in the evenings and mornings.

Just off to make a cuppa, see you later.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar Hi Camilla, I've flitted back to chat but it looks as if I've missed you.

I must tell you how much I enjoy your paintings and photos each night- I usually just want to sink into each lovely scene and spend some time there.

I hope that you do better with your extra hour than I have. We changed several weeks ago and I still can barely make it to 10pm. But, I do so love my bed!

This is the only place that I can play at being a 'night owl'.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla, and to Blackbird, and any other owls.

That picture is perfect Camilla. Well ... all your pictures are so perfectly chosen. Just thinking of all the UK folks who must might not wake up on "time" tomorrow morning. Might miss church, might miss other Sunday appointments.

It is so funny. This does happen every year. Nice to have this semi-annual wake up call, and know that if we do sleep late, we can repeat that in fall, and be ... on time.

Re
Camilla's Avatar Hello Blackbird.! thank you for your kind words.

I saw three Blackbirds today all swishing about in the water to the birdbath here in the garden, I love watching them, lots of nests soon I'm sure in our hedges soon.

I am not out to work later this morning so the timing factor won't hit me. Ah bed....... 10pm is a little too early for me and I do enjoy the quietness and calm of the late evenings.

Lovely to see you on the perch this evening Blackbird.

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar I'm back for just a moment before I'm off to an early dinner. Hello Frances.

Camilla, I think that I may have to travel to England to see a proper blackbird- the one of the pretty song. I don't think that we have blackbirds here in the NW. My bird is a crow- also black but that's where the likeness stop.

I had a busy night last night with my 16 year old out with his friends celebrating the first night of spring break. They tromped in just after 2am- leaving me tossing and turning. Half the time wondering if something might be wrong and the other half mad at him. But, this too shall pass.

I'll be back to the perch another evening. Have a safe, sweet night.

Re
Camilla's Avatar Hello Puffin,

Fingers crossed your internet server stays on for you.

Daisy Boo is a Jack Russell, similar to the one above but black and white and rough coated. She too is a little tinker, likes to ruff and tumble on the bed-clothes. She will be 8 years on April 1st and I adore her to bits.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Blackbird, so glad that 16 year old got home safely.

It must be so difficult to let the teenagers have increased freedom, which being concerned about their safe return home.

Re
Camilla's Avatar Enjoy the dinner Blackbird, we have many Crows here at the moment flying onto the fields around the cottage, and farmers have not long used their tractors, birds always flying about then.

Ooh, would love to know that Blackbird song, is it the very old song I think I may know of.

Oh poor you Blackbird, I know how you must have been worrying with your son, mine was just so at same age, they think we mother's don't worry, but we do. Pleased to know son got home safely, wishing you a much better night's sleep tonight Blackbird.

Night night, sweet dreams, see you tomorrow.

Re:
Puffin's Avatar We have quite a few Blackbirds in our yard and they chase
away the smaller birds at the feeder's
They aren't Crows and make a differant sound.
There is a song 'BYE BYE Blackbird-Good Bye',but I can't
remember the words.
Crow are bigger and go CAW CAW-
I have lived on a farm.
I guess all teenagers go thru stages. And Mum's always
worry even when the young leave the nest.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Still here, having clicked a bit to check some emails.

Camilla, do you usually reset your clocks before you turn out the lights and go to sleep, or ... just wait until Sunday, and see when you wake up and see how nature resets your internal clock?

Re:

All the same...it is late there. Please do switch off those lights, and close those eyes.

Sweet dreams to all. xo

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar I'm back for a sit on the perch. Dinner was great with the charm of a small child, not my own, and two pitchers of local brew. Now, I'm off to look around and then to dim the lights and celebrate Earth Hour. Later, my friends.

Be safely tucked into warm beds to await the morning sun.
