Cowart's Common Room
Party and Easter Thoughts

Good morning - tuck your vests in and stop fidgeting. Thank you.

TWO things - so please read both . . .

Firstly over the Xmas period Pipany put up our Xmas pictures on daily basis - thank you Pips they were brilliant . . . so do we have any volunteers to do the same over the Easter period . . .

On Monday 20th April it will be our 2nd Birthday - now we haven't had a party for a while - so do we want a party? Or do we want to wait until July for the second year birthday of this website - or celebrate both . . .

Exmoorjane's Avatar I really think that we ought to try to get a REAL meet-up. Surely someone out of this bunch has the wherewithal to organise us a deal at some hotel somewhere in the middle? If Woman and Home can do it?! OK, not for 20th April but for the autumn maybe? Volunteers?

Faith's Avatar I'd be happy to help organise, but I wonder when it came down to it EJ how many would actually come? We didnt have much success with the calendar shoot, though I appreciate Scotland is a far way to go.

I have no wherewithal to organise deals, but I do have time to help organise. Maybe we should put up a thread seeing the response.

A 'Meets' Forum might be a good idea.

Faith's Avatar PS if no-one else wants to I will put up Easter pics, but very happy for someone else to do it....

Exmoorjane's Avatar Good idea re forum, Faith. I think it would have to be in the Midlands realistically. Might be worth checking out the kind of deals available off-season. Nobody here ever worked in events/marketing? If we could get an idea of the range of costs then we could see how many people might be interested. Could add anything really - a photography workshop maybe? Craft workshop? Fashion show! Dog parade (OK, only joking) World's our oyster really......but yup, does need a few bods with organisational skills....

Fennie's Avatar We should certainly mark April 20th in some way.

Milla's Avatar I think that that was the problem, Faith, Scotland being such a LOOOONNNNNGG way, well, unless you live in Scotland, of course. A mass meet up for as many as poss sounds great, just the ticket.

Elizabethd's Avatar Or of course you could all come to France??

Posted by: Elizabethd on 26th Mar 2009 at 03:06PM

Westerwitch's Avatar Well we could do the Midlands thing and see if I can get a good rate at a Hilton through Wildchild.

CalicoKate's Avatar That sounds like an amazing idea
No idea if I would be able to get there for a number of reasons but would be very encouraging that all who could should!

Note: Scotland Isn't as far away as you think! Really 'tisn't!
Not as far away as Cornwall!

Milla's Avatar Try telling Pip that!

Am up for all parties, whether 'real' or virtual! Would love a meet up, Midlands is OK I guess, but surely Devon would be a much better place???Twisted Evil

I still have not met anyone from the coo, and would love to, so would do my best to attend. But I often get work at short notice and cannot turn it down at the moment.

I'm away fomr the PC over easter, only able to get online occasionally so cannot help with the picture putting up - but would love a celebration of the anniversary.

You have to mark the good times - you never know when they will come again!

Pipany's Avatar Oh everywhere is such a long way from Cornwall. Hardly ever manage to get away at all, blow it. Takes an hour and a half just to leave the county Sad
