Cowart's Common Room
Ohmygoditsreallyhappening!

Got my Flora London Marathon pack ast the weekend and I think I am 38028 or 29 (i've lost it already in m,y office) - a little behind the elite runners but if you are watching on the 26th of April I should be getting past the finish at around 4pmI!
I'm all dressed up for my 13 miler training run today - have raided son's sweetie jar for jelly babies on premise that my need is urgent. Will no doubt feel exceedingly guilty later and refill said sweetie jar to the gunnels.
Went to Addenbrooks yesterday for a meeting with the consultant about The Boy's Absence Seizures the news is mixed as medicine Epilim Chrono doesn't seem to be having much affect and his seizures are getting more frequent, longer in duration and more severe. However, we have some room for manouvere and have upped the dosage yet again. Cross fingers it will have some affect this time!
Cross fingers as well that I get out to do this run!!
Ps Don't know wehter to be excited about doing the London Marathon or scared, also don't really know what to do for The Boy - run I suspect!!!

Re:
Exmoorjane's Avatar I am seriously in awe, Tattie. I seriously can't even run to the end of the garden (and it's not that big).

Re:
Crystal Jigsaw's Avatar I've just pm'd you, Tattie - before you posted this so my pm is a little out of date!

Well done you, 26 miles. OMG. I get knackered when I run upstairs.

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar My son did 22 miles by mistake a day or two ago! He had misjudged the length of the training run. Definitely NOT in his training schedule! He has done it once before and hopes for under 4 hours. Don't know his number.
So sorry to hear about the continuing worries about the Boy. Do do hope this higher dosage works.

Re:
Preseli Mags's Avatar Fingers crossed that the dosage works this time for The Boy. And collossal good luck for the marathon. I'm so excited that you're doing it and hugley jealous as it is my ultimate ambition. It's only twice your run today, it'll be a doddle!!! Wink

Good Luck with the Marathon Tattie, and do tell us if you have a sponsorship page?

Hope the increased meds work for the boy too, must be hugely worrying.

Re:
Wow! Am very impressed. A few of my friends are also running in this. Like Jane, I am lucky to get to the back of my garden without puffing enough to scare the cats and birds.

All the best and hope you enjoy it.

Re:
Salle de Bain's Avatar Wow...I'm always in awe of people who can run a marathon (I'm an unfit lazy slob)...well done.

Hope the medication suits...I know that when children are growing fast, it is often a game of catch-up re: the dosage.

Re:
Vic's Avatar I'm so impressed - I'll have to ask for tips. How do you keep running when your head says 'stop'?
Very best of luck to you.

Westerwitch's Avatar Shocked eeeek - too much running about amongst the members . . Shocked

Oh I do hope the increased dose works for the boy - so worrying for you. How is he coping?

Re:
ChrisH's Avatar Yeessss! Well done, Tattie!!! The jelly babies are very good for running power - tuck a good supply in a plastic bag in the waistband of your knickers and eat them at three mile intervals.
My niece is going through the same as your son, what a palaver, with ups and downs. Good luck to both of them.

Re:
KittyB's Avatar Cor, wow, phew. You'll be getting my April magazine-spending money as sponsorship for this!
Hope the upped dose sorts the seizures out.
