Cowart's Common Room

There's a definite change in the weather up here in 'Ice Station Zebra'. It feels a bit like (dare I say it) Spring? The temp is 11 degrees this morning....amazing!!

This is the view from the kitchen window today....the daffs up the drive are finally in flower....and it really lifts the spirits.

There have been lambs down in Kildare and Meath for a while now, but there are none here yet. I don't think it will be long though, as I can hear the ewes in the farm next door....they've all been brought into the lambing sheds.

One of Henry's wives is madly collecting both hen and duck eggs to sit on, and gets very annoyed if I go anywhere near her.

Off to get a broody coop today, as I think I'll let her hatch a few....not too many!!

Loved the lambs mountaineer.... bring on more of those spring pictures's good for the soul!!!

Westerwitch's Avatar Eeeeeek not here - but it was last week. Yesterday we had sleet and snow and the wind was very cold Evil or Very Mad I love snow, but even I am ready for the gentle temperatures of spring.

Salle, such a cheery sight, thank you for sharing. Brace yourself, batton your hatches, and prepare for the gale force winds 'in the west' (that probably means us) forecast for tonight!

Withy Brook's Avatar Daffs just beginning to come out. Polyanthus are flowering. Cold. Yesterday's very strong winds reduced today but still go straight through you.

Exmoorjane's Avatar Yup, cold and breezy here yesterday too, with a sprinkling of rain but the sun is back today (but not as warm as last week and still a stiff breeze). Lovely to see the trees coming into bud though and all the daffodils.

Frances's Avatar Love that cheery close-up! We are back to winter temperatures in NY although the sky is blue and the sun is out.
