Cowart's Common Room
What is it about New Zealand??

I'm talking the questionnaire here. It's almost as if NZ has paid you lot to vouch for it! Maddest q'naire so far belongs to ATM (am I surprised?? Rolling Eyes), great reading all round though. Mine will go up, just trying to work out if I have any undesirable traits... it's a big ask.

Re:
I noticed the New Zealand thing too - was torn between that and South Africa, which is where I was supposed to be last October. Not sure I will ever get there now, but NZ is achievable. iGit has family there, and we have many friends who have been and have said it is THE place to go if you can spend longer than the 2 week norm.

Re:
Lily's Avatar Haven't looked at many of the other profiles , so hadn't realised NZ so popular. We did seriously think of emigrating many years ago -I remember going to a presentation but FIL became ill - OH got a job near them and things were put on hold never to progress. A case of not carpe dieming I suppose.

Re:
Exmoorjane's Avatar What, didn't the NZ tourist board offer YOU a hundred quid to bung it up??Very Happy

Have got two good mates out there I'd love to visit plus every time I watch Lord of the Rings it gets me yearning (which could be why it's affected a lot of us but not you, Milla!)Wink

ATM? What are we going to do with her??Rolling Eyes

Re:
Arosebyanyothername's Avatar I have enjoyed the profiles enormously and it is interesting to see differences/similarities. Also a useful guide to prevent one saying the wrong thing to the wrong person ie - those who have religious views etc.
NZ was on my list because I have heard it is very beautiful and I have a niece on North Island. We intend to go for an extended visit when we finally retire. My sister and her husband are touring there at the moment. I am looking forward to their feedback and photos.

Re:
I've always wanted to go to New Zealand, ever since I was a child. Biggest obstacle: don't care to fly anymore! So, the words 'fat' and 'chance' loom large. It has always seemed such a versatile country with all sorts of scenery, and a rich cultural heratige, and also spotlessly clean and unspoiled.

Then there was Lord of The Rings. I will watch that movie for ever and ever because of what it is, but my viewing pleasure is considerably enhanced in that it was filmed in New Zealand. Oh, to live in Edoras! My perfect place.

I lived in Iceland for 4 years, and loved it. I feel that New Zealand offers the same as Iceland but with a more acceptable climate.

Re:
Milla's Avatar I assumd that a lot of it was down to LOTR, and Narnia, actually, that was shot there, too. My prob is that a couple of dreadfully dull families I know haev moved there which makes it a silly no-go area! Of course Cowgirl sells it well in her blog, too, so I should go (loot allowing) and wear a hat and dark glasses (as I imagine the dull families would if they heard I was visiting! no love lost etc)
