Cowart's Common Room
Thank you...........

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who sent me lots of Purple Hugs after reading my "I need a Hug" post.

I am so touched by your kindness.

After going to see the Solicitor on Wednesday we are in a more positive mood, we were advised that we are protected by the Agricultural Tenancy Act and by the TUPE rights of when the Farm is sold they can't just chuck us out of our home and they can't make Hubby redundant to make the sale, and they can't make him redundant and then take someone else on to do the job as this would be constructive dismissal, as the land still need's to be farmed they need someone to do it!

They can apply to the council to re-house us, but we were told that the council's don't like to do this, we need to sit tight and wait and see what they come up with.

I do know that when people want to get you out they do always seem to find a way around things....but, at least we have got some breathing space to look at our future and for Hubby to keep an eye on the job adverts, the best outcome would be that whoever buys the Farm will leave things as they are.

Here's hoping!!

I will keep you all informed, and again my heartfelt thanks to you all.

Withy Brook's Avatar So glad that you are feeling a little happier. I go along with the others and lets hope that somebody nice buys the place and wants you to stay on. The uncertainty continues but at least you have a breathing space.

Exmoorjane's Avatar Phew, a respite if nothing else, very glad to hear that. if it's heartening at all - a farm near here went on the market, sold and the people who sold it are now being paid to stay on and continue to farm it!! Now how's that for having your cake and eating it too?
very best of luck, fingers crossed.

Salle de Bain's Avatar Ditto everone else's comments.

I would just like to add that my father once gave me such good advice when I was worrying about the future. He said that worrying does not change anything, and is energy wasted. You can go to bed at night worrying...toss and turn...burn calories...but everything will still be the same in the morning. That may sound harsh...but it's so really is energy that would be better saved for elsewhere.
Once he told me that I stopped worrying about things as much and concentrated my energy on creating a future.

You are doing just that..taking positive steps to research all the good may all work out OK in the end...

Frances's Avatar Farmersgirl, it is grand to hear your update and that you have some relief.

I very much like what Salle de Bain has written just above. I try to practice that sort of use of energy ... but know that sometimes I just cannot quite manage it!
