Cowart's Common Room
Christmas Story

Story heard over Christmas. Little boy (actually a neighbour's four year old grandchild) writes letter (with parental help) to Santa Claus. It is duly burned in the chimney and the ashes float skywards. The child is not convinced.

"Won't Santa have difficulty reading that? - or is it like email?"

Then still on the same theme of the celestial ether and thinking of all those remarks about being good during the year.

"Does a copy go to God?"

To which enquiry, I am sorry to relate, grandma had no answer.

Faith's Avatar Children are very bright nowadays aren't they? It often amazes me the things they say/work out.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Ah, dont you just love children.... I remember my children writing letter to santa and leaving a glass of sherry and a mince pie on hearth, one that they thought he would be overworked with all that sleigh deliveries, and second that if they did not, would santa bring any presents.Smile

Westerwitch's Avatar Kids are amazing aren't they.

Remember a friend of mine writing a love letter to the boy of her dreams - you are then supposed to burn the letter and the object of your love will fall in love with you. My friend couldn't burn the letter - so she rubbed it out instead and asked me if that would count Rolling Eyes

Frances's Avatar Yes, Fennie, the future keeps us on our toes.

Older that I get, the more happy I am that tomorrow does toss up challenges.

Back to your original post, those believers amongst us must continue to hope that God indeed is always one step ahead. I remember when our politician Al Gore was quoted saying that he had invented the internet. Well, the quote really was off base, but ... all the same, if the internet was not to happen, it would not have happened.
