Cowart's Common Room

The Grandchildren left for home today, it has been lovely having them for a sleepover, looking forward to seeing them again on Boxing Day when no doubt they will be chatting about what they got in their stockings.

Waiting for a parcel to arrive it is a Christmas present, rang the company yesterday and was assured it would be here by Tuesday, ooh let's hope so.

Off to pop kettle on, see you later.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams

Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla, and delighted to say a late good evening to our wonderful Cowgirl, too.

I am also hopping back and forth across this site and also checking and sending e-mails. Should be mixing up some gingerbread dough, but just don't have the energy right now.

Perhaps tomorrow.

Camilla, I bet your grandchildren had a marvelous day with you! I also want to say that any heart with noel on it is a heart that tugs at my own heart. xo

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances, thank you.

Hello too to Cowgirl happy to see you with us on owl perch.

I am way behind with blogs I must read soon, and also have been checking emails, some from abroad also.

I love Gingerbread Frances, used to make them when children were small. All your wonderful baking will pay off Frances, they are all going to taste sooo delicious.

Yes, Grandchildren enjoyed the sleepover, although they do have such enormous appetites.!!

Frances's Avatar Wish that yesterday's snowfall looked a bit better by that early sunset today.

What was left had turned into mushy slushy stuff. Not at all pretty. Hoping that tonight's temps will stay above freezing, so it won't be all slipping and sliding tomorrow. Still, we are so lucky to have the gift of public transport here in NYC, and if the subways are not at all beautiful, they really can get anyone all over the city without getting anyone's feet wet.

Camilla's Avatar Not quite so cold here today and no signs of snow arriving so it will not be a white Christmas.

Many people will be relying on that transport Frances when weather take a turn for the worse. Here the bus goes out at 7am and then again at 9pm, no more until the next day and just two coming back into the village in the evening. No trains here, nearest one is 12 miles away in Norwich.

Camilla's Avatar That should have read.......... only going out at 7am and 9am.

Frances's Avatar Camilla, that is not very much public transport, is it? Maybe there used to be more buses before the "average" person could have a car.

Ah, I see how late it is in Norfolk.

Please do close your lights and eyes. Have lots of restful sleep and I will see you here again tomorrow.

Camilla's Avatar There used to be a train station here before Beeching decided to close all stations..... interesting programme on TV a few months ago introduced by Ian Hislop. The station here is now a huge Antique Warehouse.

I am off to bed now, night night Frances and Cowgirl, see you tomorrow.
