Cowart's Common Room
All I had to do today was...

... make a batch of Nigella's Christmas cupcakes, do the last two loads of washing and walk the dog.

What actually happened? I burned the cakes Sad, the washing machine broke (again) Twisted Evil and when we took the dog for a walk (at 2.30pm) we got locked out. Shocked

So the dog had a v e r y long walk and then we sat in the car eating the car sweets until Brian came home from work (at 3.50 pm)

I've now administered Horlicks and a DVD to my two frozen children and apologised to the dog (who quite clearly thought we were bonkers sitting in the car instead of going into the house). I'm now avoiding Brian who keeps saying things like: "Having a good day, dear?" while doing this Rolling Eyes with his face.

I think I need a hot toddy. Wink

Re:
Pondside's Avatar Oh PM - make it a double! Perhaps you should have that toddy in a hot bath, too!
Look at it this way - you are giving your children another great story for future laughs around the dinner table!

Re:
Camilla's Avatar Oh no, how frustrating for you PM, good idea though of Faith's re key. Saying that I am always losing my keys and could not find my specs yesterday only to find them on my head.Rolling Eyes

Re:
LittleBrownDog's Avatar Commiserations, PM! My days start off so often with the misplaced optimism of an achievable list, only to be thwarted at every turn by unkind fate. Like Pondside so wisely advises - I should have a large one and start afresh tomorrow.

Re:
Ivy's Avatar Oh PM it's this time of the year. My granny used to tie the little devil, who she thought was responsible for this kind of mishaps, to the railing outside her flat by his tail. She said he couldn't get back in and in her way...

Re:
Westerwitch's Avatar Oh PM I am so sorry I dared to smile at your tale of woe and I am sure you will smile in years to come when, as SBS says, the story gets wheeled out every Xmas.
