Snowed in

Uploaded Image
What a weekend we've had! As you know, we rarely get snow on the Island, and when we do, we run out to take photos before it melts. Well, we have had record-breaking snowfall here and are now well and truly snowed in. There is no power to the entire area, save the homes north of a certain mountain and we are the second home north - hallelujia!!! It's beautiful, though, as you can see. I have a fire going and am enjoying the quiet that only comes with deep snowfall.
.........of course I'm praying for a convenient thaw and some rain so that I can get into town to pick up the turkey!

Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Lovely. We have been snowed up twice. We used to live in a small village in South Wales which was in a valley. Although snow wasn't frequent when we did get a heavy fall it became impossible to get out of the village. The pub stayed open all the time and the village had a party atmosphere with everyone outdoors playing in the snow and improvising toboggans. It never lasted more than a few days but we loved it. We used to keep the frezer well stocked in the winter in the hope that it would happen again.

Camilla's Avatar Oh lucky you Pondy, I love the snow, sadly we only had about 5 inches a few weeks ago.
