Cowart's Common Room
Party Party!

So sorry not to have been involved in tonight's Show and Tell but I've been frantically busy in the kitchen today!
There is a party Chez Patsy tomorrrow night..about 40 people plus another 20 kids.
So ably assisted by my wonderful little friend Matilda (who is 9) we baked and decorated 60 Christmas Cupcakes, made Nigella's Chocolate Christmas cake, Toffee Apple Crumble, a treacle tart and a Yule log.
Typical Patsy to discuss desserts first..but they are the most important element don't you think!
I hasten to add that I am picking up the ham and turkey, stilton and brie tomorrow morning. Quiches already baked and chilling. Just the salads to do then!
The beer is cooling in the fridge. I'm assured the wine is quite decent so no hangovers the next day either. The spices for the vin chaud are mixed and poised for action.
Crisps, nuts and twiddly things are ready to munch too..

I love a house full of people so please join in, there's loads for everyone! What can be better than spending time with friends and family at Christmas?

But now.. I'm completely cream crackered so off to bed!!

Frances's Avatar Oh yes, deserts are a unique food group, we need lots of them every single day and extra intake at holiday time.

Your 9 year old assistant sounds quite wonderful!

Just bet that your party will be a super success Patsy ... did you say Apple Crumble? Wish I could be there.

Camilla's Avatar I love that name Matilda, my daughter used to help me with cup-cakes when she was the same age, must admit though, those cakes did seem to go quick.

Nighty Night, Bayou.

KittyB's Avatar Sounds fantastic - love that chocolate Christmas cake, did it two years ago but left it on a low table before a party and the dog (as a puppy, wouldn't dare do it now) ate most of it. Luckily she didn't have any ill effects!

Milla's Avatar Salivating here. Sounds enough food for 600 and were I not going to another party tonight I might be tempted to sashay north and stuff my fat face. Meanwhile off to look up Nigella's Christmas cake.
