Cowart's Common Room

Sorry I did not make it for the Christmas Party earlier on today, I was out for most of the day and on returning home spent a lot of time cooking a Bon Voyage meal for our friend/neighbour who is off to Germany tomorrow, Germany has much snow, oh envy envy.!

Hope there are some Mince Pies left and the bottle's of Sherry are not completely empty.

Now off to take a tour of the site to see how the party has been going, hope there will not be any hangovers in the morning, no doubt Pondside will have that famous brekkies ready for all.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Frances's Avatar Greetings to the owl post!

What a beautiful picture, Camilla, it really has got that Christmassy glow!

I also was out and about lots today trying to get some more Christmas projects done. None are done!

However, snow is predicted for NYC tomorrow, and I have got all the sugar, flour, BUTTER, vanilla, eggs, cream etc. to do some serious cookie (biscuits across that Pond) baking underway tomorrow.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

Thank you. I had three cards in my hand this morning to post, and trying to juggle with other hand of many things, car keys, bag, parcel. Arrived at post-letter box, in the cards went, got home later to discover I had popped a BY HAND card for a neighbour into the letter-box at post office by mistake.Rolling Eyes

I bet those cookies are going to taste really yummy Frances, love cookies.

Lucky you Frances with snow predicted, will it be heavy snow I wonder?

Frances's Avatar Camilla, you do make me laugh with that post-letter box story. My apartment building's lobby actually has an official U.S. Post Office mail box, with that one-way slot into which we can post mail.

Well, over the years, I doubt that there are many tenants who have not accidentally let some envelope slip into that brass-framed slot ... and then thought. Oh No. How do I get it back Good news for us is that our regular postman/woman...depending on the year... will always oblige us by unlocking that mail box and retrieving the unstamped envelope.

Perhaps your village is enough of an "eco-system" to allow you to also get your by-hand back.

Tomorrow's snow may reach 6 inches, but I remain a bit doubtful.

Camilla's Avatar My HL Frances says I am potty as a March Hare, well I quite like that description I tell him.Wink

The mail gets opened from post office box in street at 5.15pm exactly, but think it would have taken post-man ages to sort through, the letter-boxes are soooo full, fit to burst sometimes, also Mr Posty they are not always happy bunnies, don't think they would be amused. What ever happened to those happy go-lucky whistling posties with sack slung over their shoulder and riding a bycicle, now it seems man in a van with foot on throttle and not tome to stop and talk.

Hellooooo Grouse, have not seen you for ages.! hope all is well.

Camilla's Avatar Meant to say Frances....... 6 inches of snow is wonderful, we had about 5 inches a couple of weeks back.

Definately Booty, gloves, and scarf weather Frances, what about HAT.!!

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Hi Frances and Camilla,
I rushed home for the party, but it was over. Mr. T very well this week, and we were out to a drinks party tonight. Have my tennis lunch to-morrow, and then plan to have a cooking blitz. Got a lot done to-day. Like to be organized, as I can't bear fussing. You lucky thing having snow tomorrow Frances. Can't remember when we last had a white Christmas. It is dull and dreary here to-day.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Camilla, When I save some of your lovely pictures, the moving ones cease to move. It's the same with my avatar. Would love to get my head around that.

Frances's Avatar Tiggy, I am delighted that your own Mr T is home and able to enjoy some Christmas parties.

So, while I will have my oven over-heating tomorrow, and setting and re-setting the timer and keeping an eye on my baking sheets of cookies, I bet that you and Camilla will be preparing all sorts of delicious treats.

Camilla, I still do hope that you will find your envelope. My regular Postman is not the fastest worker, and I think that his time on the job has shown him that sometimes his approach to his duties actually works out better.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Tiggy,

I am so pleased to know Mr T is very well this week, wonderful news, long may he continue to feel so.

Tennis lunch sounds exciting Tiggy, so does the drinks party, I am usually very organised, but somehow Christmas time I am left way behind with things to sort, and HL leaves everything to me.

Tiggy - Glad you like the pics Tiggy, but mine don't move I'm afraid, do you mean Blossom, I know she has animations that move?
