Cowart's Common Room
China Wall

You'd've thought I'd asked them to build it, not sit, vaguely still, for 5 seconds while I take a blurred shot of them against tree. Is it ever worth it. What's worse, I've tried introducing the notion that Christmas might be for kiddies, but New Year for adults (parties in mind, here). Just how well has that gone down? Badly enough to call for a bucket of wine. Uploaded Image

Faith's Avatar Oh they are lovely Milla! Very good looking boys. You must be very proud. I would've loved a son. And your tree looks twinkly and special too.

Lampworkbeader's Avatar They look very sweet to me. I just love other peoples children, particularly when I see them in photographs and don't have to deal with them myself.

Milla's Avatar thanks, gals, (I feel quite cheated without a girl, Faith!) but never think that boys are straightforward! Never! They've been driving me MENTAL tonight, sort of relentless. NEVER easy forever challenging and "yes, but"-ing and knowing best and putting me in my place and just on and on and questioning and fractious. All I'm trying to do is get the swine to write their teachers their happy christmas cards and make some effort towards wrapping small presents for them. You'd think I was a monster! Dare I say "tired"? Not if I want to remain intact I don't. Off to do some officious chivvying into bed. Then make that bucket 2 buckets!

Faith's Avatar Oh ok you can keep them then! They sound as bad as girls - who are not sugar and spice!

Posted by: Faith on 18th Dec 2008 at 09:57PM

Milla's Avatar well sometimes they're delicious. It's called sleeptime! And tonight has been particularly bad. Quite why I'm rallying to their defence when I've been so cross, I don't know. It's called being a mother I suppose.

I am raising a glass in empathyWink Boys are such hard work sometimes but worth it all, nevertheless, even if you can't dress them up!

LittleBrownDog's Avatar Ah, Boys. So gorgeous when they sit still for half a minute without pinching one another, sparking up a discussion about whether or not Jeremy Clarkson might be gay or talking about the relative merits of the graphics in various computer games... Wink Beautiful picture, Milla.

TIGGYWINKLE's Avatar Milla, Such handsome boys. The rascals always have that look of serenity. A Lovely photo.

Ah yes, I know the feeling Milla. It has been a teacher/present/card fest in our house for WEEKS - that's my punishment for having children currently at two different schools with 7 teachers between them. Let alone the cleaners. But that's another story. I have not been to bed before 1.15am for days! And shan't be tonight either, it seems, as I'm frittering away time here after writing another 5,000 christmas cards of my own (we have a lot of friends...)(ok, I'm prone to exaggeration. Too many anyway for the purposes of Christmas card sanity). Am on my third bucket of wine.
Empathy, hugs etc
Ps: gosh, sounds of wretching child with tears echoing from top of stairs. This is going to be fun...! (Gastric flu anyone? We've had that for weeks too. Cept me. I'll have it for Christmas Eve sure as eggs is eggs. Rolling Eyes
