Cowart's Common Room

A busy day for me, and the weather sooooo cold, definately vests weatherSmile Went to Norwich in the afternoon, and it was heaving with crowds, so pleased to get back home to the Cottage and the warmth of the fire.

Never did find that fluffy toy dog for a sweet little six year old, teddy or any other animal won't do apparantly, in my day I was happy with a sooty and sweep puppet in my stocking.Smile

Off to make a cuppa, see you later.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Frances's Avatar Good evening to you Camilla.

Sorry about the fluffy dog. I do agree with you about remembering my childhood as a time without precise requirements.

I had great fun today at work. I was not at the shop, but rather had the opportunity to attend a fitting session, complete with lovely fit models, that would end up creating the July and August 2009 collections.

I was in the midst of the company's design team and the various teams that translate the designs into actually product. It was fascinating. Imagine how strange I felt, as the day went on, and we reviewed item after item, and the question would be raised, "What do you think, Frances?"

I was there to represent other store managers and also our beloved customers. In a way it was a dream come true, but I did feel the responsibility.

And, as I left to come home, I saw that it was, and is, snowing very lightly. Beautiful in the illumination of all our electric lights.

Camilla's Avatar Good Evening Frances,

Thank you. Oh I can just visualise how it was for the fittings for future collections, it does bring back so many memories for me, and sooo many different outfits to try and parade before on the day.

Your role as top Manager is very important to all concerned for the running of the shop to the Buyers and what best is suited for different seasons of the year, and to keep the customers happy, and you I am sure Frances do this all very well. The design team value your expert opinion I have no doubt on that Frances.

How lovely to be having light snowfall, I love snow.! Our village looks pretty with it's tiny clear white festive lights, and each of the window sills above the shops have small green Christmas trees twinkling with lights too. This is done every year by our local greengrocer for all of the shop owners.

Frances's Avatar Your village must be quite beautiful. There is nothing like a bit of light and greenery around this time of year to bring cheer.

I do thank you for your compliments, but wonder if they are deserved, Camilla. At today's fitting, I just wanted to make sure that the designer did hear the voice of the customers. Sometimes our customers are a bit baffled by the designers' decisions!

Oh, I wish that I had a few more days off this week. So much to do! Absolutely no baking so far, and still have packages and cards to post!

Camilla's Avatar Yes very pretty Frances, and especially the entrance to one of the Churches in the square.

Re the designs of what customers want I know exactly what you mean Frances, when I skip through Magazines and see quite horrendous fashions akin to a carnival maybe I think surely one cannot wear that in town or country, even though I like to know that I am quite eccentric.

Please don't fret Frances, I am sure everything will be fine with baking and parcels, if not all that matters is that you have enough time for yourself to have some quality rest time, especially when you work such long hours.

Hello Tiggy, hope you found the decorations you were searching.
